I`ve keep on telling them until they learn  I was wondring about the kilts, seem to fancy to make different patterns/tartan at that time different color maybe but tatran to time consuming in those days. The national costums in Norway have regional differencess colors and design this more for telling what region/comunity they belonged to. But they werent common so early as the kilts though, they came around 200-330 years ago.
They are used in weedings and on the National holiday, and on other celebrated days. It was a common everyday clothing in the old days.
