Batman 89 (especially MY cut of Batman 89, which can be read in my Recasting thread 😉 ) is an entertaining movie... Is it really accurate? Hell no... But is it a fun movie to watch? Absolutely (especially if MY cut was made into a movie 😉 )... imo at least...

hey dude,okay I can handle you listing batman 89 and batman returns in your favorite movies list since bats is obviously your favorite comicbook hero,but geez,did you HAVE to go and list those crapfest MAN-SPIDER movies in there as well? now THAT makes me nausiated. 😘 I didnt think your taste was THAT bad. 😛 the burton batman movies i can sit through because of the hot looking kim basinger and michelle phieffer.burton does good in his casting of females I will say that much for him. 😄 but MAN-SPIDER? there is NOTHING redeemable about that monstrocity franchise. 😘

people REALLY need to take a look at MAN-SPIDER ONE again sometime.
Because I know from many die hard spidey fans,they are just settling for the fact that a spiderman movie has finally been made and just love it only because at the time it was the only spiderman movie to have been put on the screen and since it was the FIRST spidey movie to ever make it to the big screen so they are not objective and cant see how horribly written that movie REALLY is.with man-spider 2,even though I was dissapointed with that one as well,I can at least understand WHY so many people think THAT one is really good because it was much better than the first one by leaps and bounds,it was much more faithful and loyal to the comicbook even though it also had some dumb unnessary changes made that should have been left out.
with man-spider two i can understand WHY people would like THAT one so much even though I hate it because like i said,unlike the first one,it was at least loyal to the comicbook and SOME ways.the first one wasnt at all.and it also didnt have anywhere near as many cheesy lines like the first one did.it seemed more professionally written.Plus the special effects in that movie are far superiour than the first one,thats the one saving grace about that movie that makes it worth sitting through is I got to admit,the special effects are mind boggling and amazing in that movie where in the FIRST one,they were pretty cheesy as hell.and seriously,the story for the FIRST one seriously looked like it was written by a 5 year old. 😠 it really looked like it had the ideas of 5 year old.thats why when i heard the third one was even worse than the first one,i thought-That cant be possible,the first one looked like it was written by a 5 year old.but they were right,MAN-SPIDER 3 is even more horrible than the first one.you really should watch the first one again sometime and forget that its the first and only spiderman movie made at that time and if your objective,you'll see how Horribly written that one REALLY is.as you know,I hate the man-spider movies with a passion,even more so than the burton/schumacher batman movies.but I WILL at least say man-spider two is an okay movie and worth sitting through because the special effects are amazing.I mean MAN-SPIDER TWO they really looked like they put in effort into making a good movie,NOT so with the first one.

Now a restart I wouldn't mind... (So we can fix the mistakes the first ones made) Personally, if Spider-Man 4-6 is a restart, I wouldn't mind

as long as that idiot Raimi is directing it,4 through 6 wont be a restart and they are already making plans for raimi to direct the fourth so spiderman two is the only one sony will ever be able to make claims to of having a good movie.there is hope for a restart with it again though because we actually got batman and robin to thank for having batman begins made.it bombed so bad at the box office that they finally stopped making more sequals and restarted the whole thing after that with a fresh new beginning and fresh new start back to his beginnings and roots.if batman and robin had done well finacially just think how many more crappy batman sequal movies we would have had to sit through. 😘 thats scary to even contemplate.
batman and robin gives me hope for the spiderman movies to be restarted as well in the future sometime because spiderman 3 got so much negative word of mouth that the box office take for it wasnt near as good as the first two films were.the thing that gives me hope of that is the ONLY thing that made spiderman 3 have a decent showing at the box office,was opening weekend which broke records on opening weekend for movies but the ONLY reason it was such a huge success at the box office on opening day weekend was because it was feeding off the success of the praise by the fans and critics from the SECOND film is why it did so well on opening weekend.
AFTER opening weekend,word of mouth got back that the movie was so bad that the box office took a huge dive at the box office the next weekend. In fact I remember reading in USA TODAY how the dropoff the second weekend was so significant,that it was far worse than the pervious two films dropoff in their second weekends.MAN-SPIDER 4 wont have the luxary of riding on the success of MAN-SPIDER 3 for opening weekend that MAN-SPIDER 3 had with MAN-SPIDER 2 which has always been a key to their success doing so well on opening day weekend because of all the nagative backlash that MAN-SPIDER 3 got.so that gives me hope that MAN-SPIDER 4 will be a complete bomb at the box office and they will reboot the whole series back to its beginnings with all a SPIDER-MAN BEGINS. 😄 and get a director who understands how the mechs are an ESSENTIAL important part of his character and give spidey fans a good spidey film like nolan gave long suffering batman fans such as me and bakerboy a good batman film on the big screen FINALLY after 14 years of suffering.erasing those bad nightmare memorys of the burton/schumacher films. 💃

First image of the movie, the warner bros loge turning into bats , whoaoooo, i was totally exited when i see it.The first hour of the movie is about Young Bruce Wayne life and his training and travels for the world, his relationshipe with the misterous henry ducard, his remember of his parents murder and his feel of guilty, he wants to do something and find justice , but he doesnt know how . Ducard trained him and teach him how to concentrate his fell of guilty and rage in one objetive, and how to controlls his fear and use it to scare his enemies. This part of the movie is essential to understand who Bruce Wayne is and why he becomes batman.
Second part of the movie, gotham city. That is the gotham city of the comics, forgive burton and shumacher cities, that is the definitive gotham city. A corrupted, realistic and dark city that looks like a hell itself. We see the bruce wayne as he is in the comics. A tall, handsome, muscular and arrogant and silly play boy who are all day in parties and try to gets all the women. And we see batman, best batman ever, serious, intimidating and creepy. The definitive batman. We see Falcone, scarecrow, alfred, jim gordon, batmovile, batcave, etc. That is the world of dc comics . A lot of action, a lot of good action scenes, batman doing martial arts, scarecrow creepy as hell, awsome scenes with batmovile, a fine love story with rachel ( katie holmes) and spectacular end. What a end. Absolutely wonderful. At the end of the movie, you have the feeling that you know who batman and bruce wayne is and what are his motivations and why this guy wears a bat costume and fights the crime every night.
The good points: 95% of them. CHRISTIAN BALE IS THE MAN. He is amazing as batman and even more amazing as Bruce Wayne, his voice, his look, his conversations with alfred, his eyes, his screen presence.he isnt playing batman, he is batman. He was as good as Chris Reeve as superman.
The supporting cast is amazing: katie holmes is very good, Cillian Murphy is totally creepy as scarecrow/professor crane, Oldman, Wilkinson, Hauer, Watanebe and Freeman are very good , but specially Michael Caine and Liam Neeson. Caine`s alfred is brillaint, as good as michael gough was, his relationship with bruce and his sense of humour is great. Neeson is great too, his misterious and powerful precense as ducard almost steals the show. Really, Bale, Caine and Neeson stealed the show, with Murphy in a close second.
Bad points: Batmovile design: it should have been a lot better, but it stils works better than i thought.
The references to the burton movies: i thought that it was a total re start of the series, so , some references to the burton movies pissed me off.
To resume it, Best batman movie and best comic boock movie ever. At the end of the screening, almost all the people were aplauding in the cinema, including myself and my friend. Go and see quickly. a 9'9 of 10.
I totally agree with everything said in this post for the most part. only I still think Superman the movie is the best comicbook movie of all time.But thats only mainly because of the nostalgia feeling I had of watching that movie as a kid. It always brings back fond memories everytime i watch it.Batman Begins is a very close second though.
I hadnt seen this movie since it came out at the theaters and was reminded recently after watching the network premeire of the movie on cable tv,how awesome a film this is.This movie is so awesome.Its 10 times better than those crapfest Burton/schumacher batman movies COMBINED!! 💃 I agree that the other 4 batman movies were a nightmare and a bad dream.
