You're imagining a demon-haunted world when none exists.
I went dancing with friends in a unicorn costume. We shared snacks and entered a limbo contest. Convince me that there is objective evil in that, and we'll talk. There isn't, so you're f*cked, but frankly I don't give sh*t if your cavalcade of testimonies think Halloween is evil. If you aren't personally contributing to evil, then, um, you aren't contributing to evil. It's tautologically simple.
If you could distinguish between actions, I'd believe you possess the intellectual nuance to have this discussion. As it is, everything you say is, at best, throwing the baby out with the bath water, so to speak.
Well, JIA is getting his "Devil and minions B supernatural because of the story of Job and how Satan was allowed to destroy Job through supernatural manipulation of physics."
So, yeah, some Christians think that Satan and his minions are supernatural because of the Job mistranslation story.
However, what you mean is "Supernatural" with a capital "S" which implies THE supernatural: the origin of all that is natural and operates outside the bounds of the natural.
That is still true. Both of your ideas regarding God can be true at the same time. Satan has Supernatural power only because God created him that way. He is supposedly a fallen angel and formerly one of the greatest angels in heaven: so it shouldn't be far fetched that he retains his abilities from being a High-Ranking angel so long as God permits.
This sounds like some comic book shit, yo. Satan is High Herald/Skyfather level.
Nor do fundamentalist Christians know anything about witch craft except for what attention-seeking "former witches" declare on Youtube.
JIA's argument is pretty much this:
"I believe, therefore it is true".
This in itself is not an issue; at least, not enough for people to actively dislike him and seek to prove him wrong. No, he has to take it a step further:
"I believe, therefore you should also. If you don't, you're wrong and going to a place of eternal torment."
I don't understand how anyone can equate that mindset with tolerance, loving, or holy.
I have personally been visited by demons, and attacked by them (many times).
In addition, the Bible reveals that demons exist.
The Lord Jesus acknowledged the existence of demons.
Demon-possessed satanists, warlocks (male witches), witches, shamans, and other devil worshippers affirm the existence of demons.
Some refer to them as spirit guides, deceased ancestors, familiar spirits, etc. but they are demons.
In fact, the Lord Jesus cast demons out of many people who were possessed by them, afflicted by them, and oppressed by them.
The religious leaders of Lord Jesus’ day knew about demons.
The Pharisees attributed Lord Jesus’ ability to cast demons out to the ruler of the demons they referred to as Beelzebub (which was not true. Lord Jesus cast demons out by the supreme power of Holy Spirit).
If demons are imaginary as you assert, then who or what did Lord Jesus cast out of those many people?
Some people’s medical condition (e.g. blindness, muteness, deafness, epilepsy, arthritis, insanity etc.) was a direct result of demon possession, because after the demon was cast out the condition left.
But some conditions were not caused by, or the direct result of demons inhabiting the individual.
Furthermore, the word demon occurs 82 times in the New King James translation of the Bible.
Nowhere in the Bible are demons referred to as being imaginary.
Demons are very real, as is the devil whom they serve and obey.
In one case Lord Jesus and His disciples met a man who was possessed with many demons.
Again, this might be difficult to comprehend due to the laws of physics, but the laws of physics do not apply in the unseen/spirit realm.
The demon-possessed man was not in his right mind. The man wore no clothes and lived among the tombs. The moment the man saw Lord Jesus he cried out, fell down before Him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me.
Actually it was the demons inside the man's body that cried out. You see, demons know that one day they will be tormented in the Lake of Fire.
Lord Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. The man had to be restrained with chains and shackles (which he broke by the way).
Lord Jesus asked the demon its name. The demon inside of the man replied, Legion, because many demons had entered him.
So it is safe to conclude that this man had at least 6,000 demons. The demons knew/know that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that He had commanded them to leave the man’s body, so they begged Him that He would not command them to go out into the abyss.
There were a herd of many swine (at least two thousand) feeding there on the mountain. So the demons inside the man’s body begged Him that He would permit them to enter the swine. Lord Jesus permitted them. The demons went out of the man and entered the swine.
Demons are so evil, wicked, and unclean that the herd of swine reacted immediately, and ran violently down the steep place into the lake and drowned.
Those who fed the swine saw what had happened, they fled and reported it in the city and in the country. Those people who were told went out to see what had happened, came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind.
Why was the man sitting (instead of being naked, cutting himself with stones, crying out, breaking chains, etc.) at the feet of Lord Jesus, clothed and in his right mind?
Because the demons were gone.
These people were afraid. They knew this man’s reputation. They knew that he could not be tamed nor restrained. They knew that this man cut himself with stones and pulled chains and shackles apart with unprecedented strength.
The original eyewitnesses told them by what means he who had been demon-possessed was healed. Then the whole multitude of the surrounding region of the Gadarenes asked Lord Jesus to depart from them, for they were seized with great fear. Lord Jesus got into the boat and returned.
The man from whom the demons had departed begged Lord Jesus that he might be with Him. But Lord Jesus sent him away, saying, return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you. The previously demon-possessed, naked, chain and shackled man, who lived among the tombs went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Lord Jesus had done for him.
So whether there is inherent evil (you said objective evil) in dancing with friends in a unicorn costume, or of sharing snacks, and entering a limbo contest I have to say no, there isn’t.
I am not pointing the finger at you Digi, or accusing you of wrongdoing.
I am simply trying to inform you.
Halloween is the devil’s high day. It is a major day to satanists, warlocks, and witches.
So, in light of everything that I have communicated to you regarding what it really means to participate in traditional, Halloween activities on October 31st, if you decide to do so, you do so with the foreknowledge that you are taking part in celebrating a satanic event.
Again, that’s your prerogative.
