When comparing the accolades, accomplishments, and skill feats in canon- how do you think Maul compares to the likes of Obi wan, Anakin, Vader, Mace, and Dooku? To many who frequent this forum the difference in skill between these fighters is up for debate- but would any of them in honestly have Lost to Kanan Jarrus or TPM Obi wan? How far or how close to Maul in Lightsaber skill to the Aforementioned, or if Maul is inferior then by how much and what feats/performance issues lead you to question Maul's skill as a Swordsmen?

Carthage learn to differentiate between raw skill and character flaws and story-telling. Maul is on their level skill-wise, but Maul's overconfidence which we first saw in TPM has been grossly exaggerated in Rebels. Every sith Lord has shown signs of arrogance at some point of another; Maul is simply the scapegoat.

Even that's an understatement tbh. I mean ok sure in TPM, I get it overconfident, he just killed an esteemed Jedi Master and had the Padawan hanging for his life. Ok makes sense..
TCW...ehh...ok maybe some overconfidence is alright, can't really recall any instances off hand.
But Rebels?...Noo....he should have learned that by now.
The line of skill is as follows: Sidious, Yoda, Dooku, Windu, Maul
Kenobi is absent because his application of a lightsaber is extremely effective, however, is not extremely skilled. Duelists such as Anakin Skywalker are far more skilled than Kenobi. The reason people think that Kenobi is very skilled is because he can defeat 90% of opponents. However, this is not a show of skill, but a show of his mastery of Form III being vastly effective in a duel.
He's a less experienced/skilled Mace Windu, for all intents and purposes, and not by much. I look at Maul, Kenobi and Dooku as having a rock-paper-scissors type of relationship style-wise (or you could sub in Windu for Maul and it'd still make sense).
Anakin is the most well-rounded and powerful out of them all. Then there is Yoda and Sidious.

then by that definition isn't Dooku categorized in the same category as Obi wan? Both rely on their mastery of a form to defeat opponents. I don't believe Anakin is more technically skilled than either of the aforementioned, but because of his incredible force augmentation, he's more effective.

He can compete with any them and, in my opinion, do better against Dooku than Kenobi did and do better against Anakin than Dooku did due to his fighting style. In terms of pure skill I have him marginaly below Kenobi.
