a year to the day
It’s a year to the day but nobody remembered.
When I was gone, they all cried
But now there is something else to distract them.
The Boy That Lived lives on
He has lost another, again
All that are close are removed from him as I sit and watch.
I sit on high and watch them from under the ground,
I watch them all as they fail to comprehend
I listen to their pleas, I hear their cries
I watch as he who promised me
Loves another
He holds her, a year after my death.
I remember the past, spending the years together
Unsure and afraid, I never told you what I felt.
Until one fateful day alone, two friends
Two lovers
Years of deceit follow, mistrust and loathing grow,
I fester away, plan an escape, find freedom.
We meet again; your hand touches my face
I see it in you eyes, your emotions are plain
I smile and we are reunited fighting a common foe
Hand in hand we strive to end it
