Why Aren't You Scared By Horror Movies... If You Aren't Scared By Them!

I think that I get so into the actors (these people make the movie for me most of the time) that I remember they are just actors. I don't think of Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger or Jim Siedow as Old Man Sawyer when I am watching a horror movie.

This is one of the reasons why people like noname actors in horror movies.

i would agree with ya cinemaddiction... infact the only horror movie to ever scare me was the childs play series... but that is due having a young tainted mind.

I disagree. Good horror movies have come out. We just don't know about them because thye are usually very samll and/or independent [productions thta don't go to the big theatres.

I think that as you get older Horror movies cease to have the same effect on you, you still enjoy them but the scares are mostly gone. Most people around my age that I know would agree. Horror films work better on a younger mind.

there is not much point in watchin a horror film if u aint gonna be scared by em...i think some people lie slightly when they say that no horror film scares them...its like me saying that no comedy film makes me laugh or no drama films make me sad..its impossible...i admit that some horror films of late fail to scary but u cant tell me when u first watched films like the exorxist and halloween, u werent scared or chilled a little..i recommend jap film uzumaki for ultimate scares...this film shit me up

Dean that is completely false, NO horror movies scare me anymore. But I guess thats because when I was a kid my relatives would get out a lot of horror movies that scared the heck out of me, I use to be a wuss, but now I've sought of grown into them. Freddy vs. Jason got me into horrors. It's not age that makes you afraid or not, it's your personality and what kinda of person you are. But I'm getting the remake of TCM on Wednesday so we'll see if it scares me or not. I loved being scared, fingers crossed! stick out tongue

The last movie that scared me when I watched it was Ring. Not jumpy scary, but that creeping fear that you get when it goes too quiet in a horror movie. Alice, sweet Alice had a similar effect as well.

To me horror movies just make me laugh. It is funny cause you see people fall down when they get poked or some nonsense like that. The killings in movies are always funny. For instance: In Jason Goes to Hell, somewhere at the end this lady gets her jaw punched in. That was funny.

To me, horror movies are not scary as when i was about 7, i just got really scared by texas chainsaw, and then kept thinking.
wow. its a plastic videotape. noone with a chainsaws coming out of that.
Now, i cant undo that and the only thing that scares me is when someone jumps round corners or whatever.

The reason i dont get scared by horror movies is because ive been watching them every since i was like 4 years old and i got used to them. Probably the first ever onces ive seen are Fire in the sky,Halloween and Childs Play and I just grew onto them.
