You have to choose one powerset from Marvel, to be yours. You are only allowed the limits shown by said character, but you're allowed to be more creative with the powers.
So for example, if you choose, say, Luke Cage, you get super strength, durability, etc with the power LEVEL limited to everything that Luke Cage has shown in comics. BUT you can be more creative, so you can....carry steel ball bearings in your pocket to throw at your enemies, for example, even though Luke doesn't do this.
You are facing the Defenders i.e. Strange, Hulk, Surfer and Namor.
Who is the LOWEST tiered character you choose, and can be creative with?

And the defenders are operating at what? Bloodlusted? I'm going to assume average portrayals though.
Also, how much are we allowed to prep our characters? Standard gear only?
Because for Luke to bring steel bearings would not be a normal load out.
Cool thread I don't have a character yet, but I'm going to need someone with a lot of hax and durability cuz no matter how look at it I'm going to be taking hits from some of them at some point and I have to be able to withstand that if I can't find a character they can just hax them out from the get go
The Defenders are in it to win it, but they're not bloodlusted/out of character.
Surfer isn't standing around philosophising about what it means to be in conflict, but neither is he starting the match by throwing a black hole in your anus. However, neither is he going to try and tank your attack if he can help it, if that makes sense.
Yeah standard gear, maybe I should have said you as Luke can break your chain link belt and throw it at superspeed or something.
With or without prep ...hmm.
Maybe yes to prep, BUT the Defenders know that you've had prep and have potentially prepped for them. So Strange would be cautious, Namor and Hulk would be arrogant (depending on who you've picked) and try to tank it, etc.
One person to take out these four? Damn...not asking much. I mean these four covers a very wide range of abilities in offense, defense and endurance.
With prep. Reed...and there are too many scenarios of how this could be done for me to express...but I would have access to entropy tech and the Ultimate nullifier. But w/out prep...no chance.
Pym...again with prep.
What about Shadowcat power set? I could try to merge Hulk and Namor bodies. Maybe rip out Strange's heart...not sure how I harm SS...so that would be a fail.
Man, this is a big task even for a Trans tier. You got one of Marvel's elite High Heralds (Surfer), Marvel's Elite Brick (Hulk), Marvel's most powerful mage (Dr. Strange), and a flying mid-tier brick (Namor is the weakest here by far but he's still formidable).
Having said that, I'd go with Skeet (the Chaos Mite). They are small, fast, manurable, durable as hell, and apparently powerful enough to kill herald level beings (Thanos thought she could kill Fallen One). I'd go for Strange first as soon as possible, he's the biggest threat but he's a glass canon with human reflexes. Then Surfer. You can safely ignore Hulk and Namor since they can't even catch you and pick them off at your leisure.

..even the outer hells are indifferent matters for they bow only to potent and archaic Nodens.
This is zop with the powers, though. Even with that, it depends on how the team is fighting. If they are fighting to the best of their ability, anyone of these people besides Namor knocks Zop out.
