Mace Windu

Does anyone think that Samuel L Jackson played too much of a Pulp Fiction style character in TPM. I know a lot of people think he's a really talented actor but I find that he can only talk in one tone of voice. I think he sort of ruined the introduction that we got to a character who's supposed to be huge in EP II.

I thought he did great personally. I mean, a Jedi Council member isn't supposed to be spontaneouos and cheery 24/7. He has to be serious. Mace also showed superb enlightment of the force and even though he never cracked a smile, he was complacent through the whole film.

Too popular to be in Star Wars

I think the problem was that he wasn't serious enough. It seemed to me that he was just reading from the script. (Duh) But he didn't convince me as a Jedi. That may be because everyone already knew who Jackson was and he wasn't a fresh face. I know that in Jurasic Park they epecially cast no-name actors so that the audience concentrated more on the story. GL also did this in ANH. Consequently, a few new stars were born out of this. However, having such a big name actor in the cast may have been a bad idea. As you can see, it has swayed my opinion of the character already.

EJ...I thought I was bad, running away with things. If you like it that much, why don't you rename yourself JediTurd or something. Yeesh. laughing out loud

Jackson did okay as Mace Windu....he just frustrated me the same as the whole council did when they blew off Qui Gon about the whole "chosen one" thing with Anakin. I don't think thats something every Jedi walks into the council with on a daily basis and discusses. Qui Gon might as well have talked to the wall about it. IMHO OC. stick out tongue

Sam Jackson is my favorite actor. He did a great job as Mace Windu. I was disappointed he didn't play a larger role in TPM, I'm pumped that he'll have a bigger part in EP 2. He did great in Pulp Fiction, Jurassic Park, The Negosiator, Shaft, Die Hard III, and Coming to America.

Yep EJ, he played Arnold, the computer guy at the park. He met his end at the jaws of a Raptor, it was pretty cool!

I didn't really like Laura Dern's performance in that film. Sam Neill just sounded like he was reading from the script all the time.

Oops, we're supposed to be talking about Mace. Anyone notice how he sits on the chair in the council room? He looks very slouched and relaxed with his arm around the back of it. Doesn't look like the sort of position you'd expect from a respectable jedi council member.

...*drifts back into Jurassic Park*. Well you'll be proud to know that Sam Niell is starring in JP3. Laura Dern was rumored to be in it also but its not confirmed.

I loved the first Jurassic Park, but the Lost World could have been a lot better. Lets just hope the 3rd one is good. The only thing that scares me is that there was no book writtern for this movie.

The Lost World was the 2nd book, even though there were almost no simalarities. And a little side note, Sam Jackson is hosting this year's ESPY awards. For anyone who doesn't know its a sports awards show on ESPN.

JediOasis, I realize that the Second MOVIE wasn't based on the second BOOK. The THIRD movie is based on the second BOOK!
