Billy Connolly (Dáin II) joked in an interview about riding a wild pig / boar. I'm curious, but also slightly scared. Looks like Beorn won't be the only owner of funny animals.

MANY (and very spoilerish) new pictures were released as part of one large banner - including shots of trolls, wargs (yesss! finally nice wolves) and Beorn the bear.
The pictures can be found here (German site, but I suppose you can guess for yourselves what the pictures are supposed to show).
The light effects are disturbingly messed up, but I supposed that's partially due to being a collage of pictures (which I always hate).

I love middle earth as much as the next guy, but this might be a little overkill. Definitely seems like they're going to milk this thing for all its worth.
I love the LotR movies but really? One book extended over three movies? C'mon this is getting ridiculous.
Edit: It's just crazy. Jackson can adapt the sprawling and epic Lord of the Rings trilogy in three movies but he needs three movies for a children's book is silly. What a joke.
In defense of this, Jackson has been talking about the large appendices written by Tolkien, how he planned to rewrite The Hobbit and make it bigger to fit with The Lord Of The Rings, because so much of what happened with Gandalf happens off screen. So...
Maybe it won't mean three 3-hour films, at least.

While that is true, I'm worried that it might drag on. I loved Jackson's LotR trilogy but his King Kong movie felt that it dragged on and on... I pray that the Hobbit doesn't do this and that Jackson didn't get dollar signs in his eyes and become the new Lucas.
