Was there a scene missing or something? I recall that it may have been from a scene that wasn't put in, but I'm not too sure. So wondering if anyone knows what, because it seems weird for Luke to just have his lightsaber up in the air like that.

When viewed in context, I think the blast was simply meant to have caught Luke in between strikes.
Still pretty stupid, though.
