What would've happened to Vader had he won at Mustafar?
Now im not talking about killing the Emperor here. Say he stayed subservient wanting to learn all Palpatines secrets and whatnot? How does the Empire explain Anakin Skywalker?? We all know that the Vader suit protected his identity and that made it easier for his assimilation into the Empire hierarchy, would he have had a more difficult time or a easier time doing this with no mask? How would Sidious treat him had he still been his prized pupil? As we read in Vader comics he loves to play mind gams with Vader and attempt to test/replace him at any opportunity, was this treatment a result of Sith ways or just done because of Vaders lost potential in the survival suit? Would he have kept his real name at large like Dooku did and kept his Sith name secret??
Anakin would still hide his face and act like Palpatine's jobber. Nothing would change.

Vader was literally already planning to depose Palpatine by before he fought Kenobi. Without the dramatic power/ability loss of the transition to his new suit, he’d have challenged the Emperor pretty quickly.
What would have happened in that scenario is up for debate, I guess.

Re: What would've happened to Vader had he won at Mustafar?
I'm sorry but if Anakin won the battle at mustafar, literally the only thing that COULD happen in the future is Anakin killing off Sidious, or Sidious killing off Anakin.
Sidious would have to kill him because Anakin would outshine Palps in possibly a few years time.
Why would the Empire care if Vader was Anakin? Palpatine ruled the Galaxy and was unopposed at the time, no one is gonna speak up against him at that point.
He tried to replace Vader because of his lost potential, but I guess, in some way, it was a test.
If Sidious didn't kill off Anakin, Anakin would become just as powerful, if not MORE powerful in a few years time, this is doubtless. Hell, if Vader had accepted a brand new fancy suit (which he could have), he could have been way more comfortable and in some way, become more powerful then Sidious.
Maybe not in the force, but maybe lightsaber combat, something.
Re: Re: What would've happened to Vader had he won at Mustafar?
I know this. But that scenario has been done to death; whats more intriguing at this point is what happens if he doesn't try to upend Sidious for whatever reason; call it wanting the Masters tutelage or maybe leverage in the form of Padme and Anakin kid(s); for some reason Anakin chooses to stay under Palpatine.
Do the Clones try to kill him?
Is the Senate uneasy with Anakin being Sidious' right hand man all of a sudden?
Do more people question Sidious rise and claims of a Jedi uprising?
What of the survivors? Now that the Jedi know for certain who their betrayer is do more of then attempt assassination attempts on Anakin?
so many questions arise with Anakin identity out in the open and it'd be interesting to see a what if comic about it someday.

Nobody thinks of the cringe "making up" he'd try to do with Padme? Like he basically just tried to kill her; can't see the relationship voluntarily continuing. Anakin would make her his sex slave or something lol.

Nah. Anakin wouldn't overthrow Palpatine. The reason he wanted to do that is due to his 'love' for Padme. She gave him a reason to live. As about Luke and Galen: They were both his 'loved' ones: Galen reminded Vader of his own son. If it weren't for these outside factors, Anakin would have never tried to overthrow Palpatine.
Also, Teh Creators aren't nerdz. They don't see or understand Anakin's potential as most of us do.

As others mentioned: Anakin was as power-drunk as ever at that point, so he likely would have tried to challenge Palpatine shortly thereafter... And been humbled in rapid succession, like he was on a few other occasions:

He wouldn't. Not without the presence of his loved ones.

They kinda have to be "nerds" to be making star wars comics.
Secondly, I'd say Anakin has even more reason to kill Palpatine, it was stated over the course of many novels and comics that Vader absolutely hated Palpatine and was only under him because Palpatine was undoubtedly more powerful.
They don't have to be nerds to make Star Wars comics. Also, this was about the movie conception of what Anakin's potential means.
As about the thread, it is natural for Sith to hate each other and having thoughts to kill each other. But without an impulse from outside, Vader wouldn't consider killing him. Unlike Sidious, Vader wants to do everything with a reason. Every deed of his was motivated by those around him(fall to the dark side, bring peace, save Padme from death)
Without those, he was just a hollowed warrior without purpose, and Sidious would fill in that empty space.
