So... Where do we gauge Bendu? [spoilers for Zero Hour]

So Bendu made quite a showing in that season finale, didn't he. The hell is that thing? Where do we place him Force wise? And what are our thoughts on him in general?

My thoughts? He's powerful but ain't going to play on any side but his own. And he has quite the temper.

The lightning he generated is beyond anything we've seen from Palpatine in Canon.

Not to mention his teleportation, which he can do at seemingly greater ease than Talzin.

I'd put him above Yoda, Palpatine, Talzin, or any other Canon character besides the Ones.

Also, did anyone notice that the Bendu said that Attalion was made to be hard to find ON PURPOSE? That planet even now has been stated again and again to be very ALIEN. Creatures unabled to be controlled by the Force, the Bendu, it's very primordial. Something tells me that's one of those mysteries that books and comics might explore, but nothing the show will cover thanks to the events of the Finale. Also the Bendu is totally not gone. He's gonna be a factor again in some form in the Star Wars universe. At the very least, he ****ed with Thrawns head a bit.

Was he trying to kill Kanan?

Maybe he couldn't take completely adandoning his philosophy and gave it one good shot as a token of impartiality?

It's clear that the Bendu is more a 'champion' of nature itself, of whom is fundamental to the very balance/superstructure of the Force itself, than a mere physical being who is just really strong with the Force, imo. His characterization is very much reminiscent of 'The Ones' in that sense -- as is the 'alien' nature of his home planet to an extent. And as was mentioned: the lightning he generated en gros(with seeming ease, mind you) was far and away the most powerful we've seen in canon... Made Palpatine's lightning look like f*cking sparklers by comparison.

*Also keep in mind: for the most part it seemed like Bendu was trying to use fear/intimidation to just scare everyone off his planet, than actually trying to obliterate them all outright -- he gave AMPLE time for them to flee unmolested, after all. With that in mind, I would be curious to see what'd happen if he just fully let loose without any sort of regard for 'teh balance'..? blink

Canon character. Lol

He's related to the same show that contradicts Revenge Of The Sith by implying that Obi-wan Kenobi and Grevious had dueled multiple times prior to The Battle Of Utapau.

Then again, those retards at Disney don't know anything about Canon.

They think Solo is supposed to be Canon - when it contradicts the physical-appearance of the Millennium Falcon as seen in Revenge Of The Sith.

The Clone Wars CGI series and Rebels are both Non-Canon.

Anakin never had an apprentice - that would have been mentioned as a reason not to advance him to the rank of Master and place him on the High Council (since Knights typically train their Padawans to Knighthood before attaining the rank of Master themselves).

Ahsoka Tano never existed in the Star Wars universe. No Bendu, no Cad Bane, no Ezra, no Mortis, the Ones, Father, etc.

If a show, book or comic contradicts the core-plot of a film, then it is automatically Non-Canon.

I mean, that might work for the previous continuity, but Disney has said everything post 2014 is Canon(along with TCW). So...yeah, but then with the way things have been going with the ST, it's not surprising.

thumb up

Disney doesn't discriminate between media: films, comics, novels, TV shows, certain theme park rides/experiences, etc. It's all under the same umbrella of canon now.

Which already is coming with a lot of problems.
