10 thing I cant wait to see in EP2 (hopefully)

1. Smi Skywalker dying. (she is the worst character in all the films)
2. Yoda weilding a lightsaber. (hopefully against Palpatine)
3. Braveheart style ground battles between Jedi and Clones.
4. General Obi-Wan Kenobi kicking some clone ass.
5. The Ewan McGregor Jedi swagger. (he is the coolest Jedi ever)
6. Queen Amidala in a gold bikini.
7. Qui-Gonns spirit returning.
8.Anakin losing some limbs and becoming part machine.
9. The new sith apprentice.
10. New Worlds

Nope Nope Nope

Rimmer, you are sooooo wrong. How could you hate Shmi? She was a helpless lady who loved her son. You've got some nerve thinking she should die. Queen Amidala is royalty you will never see her in an outfit that shows cleavage. The rest of your ideas are pretty cool. But a lady who is associated with George Lucas says that the rumor about Yoda in a lightsabre fight was untrue. How sad, I was looking forward to that too.

Re: Your ego

Leia was no longer considered royalty considering her family died on Alderaan.

list

The Amidala thing was a joke or wishfull thinking. Star Wars magazine(uk) had an interveiw with both Lucas and Rick Mcallum and they both said Yoda would be fighting in ep2 or 3. I hope this means with a lightsaber, Lucas said " we will see why Yoda is called the master". I dont want Jar Jar to die as he is a great Star Wars character but I did leave one thing out, I hope Bail Organa is like Han Solo.

Re: list

I hope they are alike too Rimmer, but doubtful. Han is my favorite character but he does have some qualities that Bail would never have. Conceit, OverPrideful, just to name a few. He is serious when it comes to near-death experiences and he does quiet down at times but Bail should have a more regal, high-political figure attitude. Bail should focus more on peace and power than winning a war. After all Alderaan is considered one of the most peaceful planets in the galaxy.

Bail

Actually, in Specter of the Past, Leia talks about how her father bent the rules of his own government to allow an orphaned group of Caamasi people to survive on a small island on Alderaan. He hid this from his own court. (After being betrayed by the Bothans and destroyed by the Empire, the Caamas planet was "inhabitable"). He may have appeared to be elegant and politically powerful, but I believe he had a rogues heart. Anyway, girls always fall for men that are like their own fathers. smile

Re: Bail

The diversity of species in one war would require much negotiation and alliance-making which would not have enough time in just Ep. II. Plus many species would not get along with others very easily.

I don't think any Star Wars film could match the greatness of ESB. In Empire everything meshed at the right time to create the dark brilliance loved by fans of all ages (and not just the 10 and under crowd like in TPM and to a lesser extent ROTJ). I give Irv Kershner more credit for this than Lucas. I think that Lucas would have to do the following three things fo ep2 to come close to the success of Empire:
1.) Hire a new director. Lucas proved in TPM that he is out of touch with modern acting and directing tactics. EP2 needs a director who is experianced with dark films , trilogies and the sci-fi genre. Spielberg would be perfect.
2.) With the clone Wars. Anakin's Fall, The Republic's fall, the rise of the sith and the Empire, and Padme + Schmi's presumed death, why in the world do you make a love story out of Ep2? Concentrate on pulling movie brilliance
out of those dark topics, make the movie PG-13 and you'll have success.
3.) With a new director you'll get better cast and character cohesiveness. Just PLEASE give those guys a script they can work with.

Keeping with my trend of typing rediculously long responses I'm going to give the 25 things I'd like to see in Ep2:
1.) A darker more plot driven film directed at an older audience. It would have to have a more mature sophisticated script(like ESB).
2.) Fight scenes that combine martial arts out of the Matrix with ground battles from Braveheart. Mesh that with star wars weapondry and many diffrent aliens all fighting against clones.
3.) Incredible lightsaber battles. Take the 30 seconds of Ob1 vs. Maul from TPM and spread that kind of intensity and skill throughout all of Ep2. Feature many new Jedi with new sabers matched up against Dark Jedi and Sith.
4.) Anakin falling in love (keep this topic small like in ESB).
5.) During the brief love story I'd like a sexy scene with Natalie Portman.
6.) Anakins fall to the dark side.
7.) The birth and immediate seperation of the twins. Luke going to Tatooine and Leia living with Mom untill she's dumped on Tatooine in Ep3(right before Amidala is killed).
8.) Characters from the novels:
a) Joruus C'Baoth
b) Thrawn
c) Prince Xizor
d) Garm Bel Iblis
e) Gilad Pallaeon
9.) The death of Schmi Skywalker
10.) Political upheavel in the senate. Vicous verbal battles between senators.
11.) The Clone Wars, and they better be huge!
12.) A secret Sith Mandolorian alliance to start the Clone Wars.
13.) The beginnings of alien descrimination(and maybe Jedi descrimination).
14.) The deaths of Mace Windu and Ki-Adi Mundi, hopefully you could get some force lightning involved in them.
15.) The realization that C'Baoth was Qui-Gon's Master and that Qui-Gon had dark intentions in training Anakin.
16.) New Planets:
a) Alderaan
b) Kashykk
c) Mon Calamari
d) Correlia
e) Mandalore
17.) A Sith Lord as powerful and evil as Maul but whose appearance is very diffrent.
18.) The evil intelligence of Palpatine presented in his lying and his secret schemings against the senate and his deceiving of the public.
19.) The revelation that Palpatine is Sideous.
20.) The enslavement of the Gungans, Mon Calamari and Wookies. Plus ground battles on all 3 of their planets that features: Bounty Hunters, Boss Nass fighting and a Wookie
Jedi.
21.) Boba Fett masked and unmasked.
22.) The best space battle ever seen that includes glimpses of the future Star Destroyers and TIE fghters.
23.) A 2 and a 1/2 hour movie rated PG-13.
24.) A gripping nail biting conclusion like in Empire.
25.) The death of Jar Jar.

In response to Xizor's long response:

1)The OT as I remember wasn't directed at an older audience, GL himself noted that the intention was for teens and children. I agree to the fact that ESB was more sophisticated with the plot factor than the other two, but none are intended only for adults.
2)I though Ep. I did a good job with those. I mean the Naboo battle could have been bigger but Ray Park and OB1 did an excellent job displaying the martial arts talent in the light-sabre scenes.
3)I would love to see that action, but most others, especially the critics, would think its dull after the first time you see the film, because you aren't expecting a high point in the movie, when the high points are from beginning to end.
4)Agreed
5)Sorry Xizor, complete disagreement on this one, Star Wars is an action-type movie, not a porno.
6)Agreed.
7)Might be too early for the twins' birth. If Luke and Leia would both end up on Tatooine:
a)How long would they be there
b)They couldn't be there long enough for them to remember each other.
c)Leia would eventually have to be re-separated from Luke and end up on Alderaan.
Overall the Leia going to Tatooine is too doubtful.
cool Not all of them but would like a couple:
a)Thrawn
b)Xizor
9)Only if she dies defending the slaves, just being killed has no point.
10)Sounds good, but there's a lot of contradiction behind this. I need to point out some things that could conflict with this:
a)Do all the reps speak English (Or Basic), to wear we would understand them, or more-or-less themselves.
b)If they didn't would the have to revert to translators or nonsense flying back and forth.
c)As witnessing the chaos in Vallorums debate about Naboo's fate, not many spoke Basic, because you would have been able to make out a slight amount of Basic.
d)Doubtful they all or even a most speak Basic, considering the UN reps need translators.
11)Agreed
12)I don't like the idea

I didn't mean a strictly adult audience at all, simply a movie that people over 10 could really appreciate. The OT was geared toward kids but adults really got into it as well(except the ewoks) and that's what should happen in Ep2, if adults like it teens will like it, and if teens like it kids will like it to. I didn't mean porno, simply give Portman Leia's swimgear and put her in a love scene like we saw with Han + Leia on the Falcon. Leia would never go with Luke to Tatooine. Luke would be sent alone to live with Owen and Beru while Leia stays with her mom (so she vaguely remembers her) and then goes to Alderaan. The senate debate could be kept to Palpatine and Chris Lee vs. Mon Mothma, Bail and Bel Iblis.

Unknownbountyhunter, I liked the idea of Mandalore as the clone factory planet and the Mandolorians as the the planet guards who help kick Jedi ass but then are exterminated. If that looks doubtful how do you think they might better fit into the movie?
