Known Superhuman Powers: Like other members of the Weapon X project team, Maverick's D.N.A. contains an age suppression factor that greatly slows his aging process. He also possesses the ability to absorb kinetic impact without harm to himself. Whereas previously Maverick simply stored the absorbed kinetic energy within his body, his powers mutated after his infection with the Legacy Virus. Maverick must now release the energy he absorbs when it reaches a certain level. He releases it through his hands, creating concussive bolts of force.

Chris Bradley lived the life of a normal teenager until his latent mutant powers emerged. Taken in by the X-Men, young Chris trained in the use of his powers until it was learned he had the Legacy Virus, upon which he returned home with his parents to live out the remainder of his life. His only friend was Donna Funaro, who did her best to understand what Chris was going through, and the two quickly fell in love.
After his house was burned down by mutant-hating people, he sought out Maverick, who had helped Chris in the past, and Maverick helped relocate Chris and his family. Chris took on the codename of Bolt after he stopped some thugs from attacking his doctor.
Moving to New York City to become a super-hero in an attempt to better human/mutant relations, Bolt was on hand to help the recently reformed New Warriors stop Blastaar, and after the villain was defeated he joined the team.
Later, upon learning of the apparent death of Maverick, Chris swore revenge on the Weapon X project. To that end, he joined the Underground resistance group led by Cable who were opposing the project and its Director. Chris underwent combat training under Cable's tutelage to become the new Maverick in honor of his friend's memory.
After months of opposing the program, Chris finally encountered the operative named Agent Zero. However, he proved no match for the mercenary and was mortally wounded. Dying in Zero's arms, he revealed his identity to the man who, in turn, revealed himself to be the original Maverick.

History: David North, a former German Freedom Fighter known as Maverick, was the former partner of Wolverine, Sabretooth, Mastodon, John Wraith, and Silver Fox when they were all C.I.A. agents.
Maverick possesses the mutant ability to absorb kinetic impact within certain limits without injury to himself. He wears body armor and wields large guns. His aging process has been greatly slowed by an "age suppression factor." In recent times Maverick had been suffering from the debilitating final stages of the Legacy Virus infection. Maverick "died" with the mutant telepath Elena Ivanova at his side.
Ivanova proceeded to perform C.P.R. on Maverick and use her mutant psionic powers to tap into his mind and coax Maverick back to life. The process proved exceptionally effective, because when she brought back Maverick, she also brought back his lost powers. In fact, they were brought back with such a great force that the explosion sent Ivanova flying across the room. Fortunately she was not harmed and Maverick's Legacy Virus seems to have gone into a type of remission.
Maverick then learned that his powers had mutated, so while he can still absorb kinetic impacts, his body now needs to release the stored energy. He also discovered that he could re-channel that absorbed energy out through his hands. This power can even be used to deliver a devastating punch that hits with ten times the force of a normal punch. Since the "remission" of the Legacy Virus, the telltale scars that usually accompany the virus have healed on Maverick's face.

Maverick is now known as Agent Zero.
He's basically a Wolverine killer, all his powers and weapons are for taking on people like Wolverine.
Anti-metal bullets that Peirce and disintegrate Adamantium.
Vibranium body suit that renders Adamantium claws useless and takes the impact out of any force.
His mutant power has mutated into an "Anti-Healing" blast, meaning he can stop "Super healers" from healing and actually make the healing reverse. The harder their body tries to heal, the worse the wound becomes.
Agent Zero is badass.
