Gladiator, in my opinion, gets way too little respect just because of that fluke with Cannonball and his confidence problems. But he has done some of the most impressive things ever recorded in comics, such as:
Beat the shit out of Ego, the Living Planet.
Stalemated the Silver Surfer in their only confrontation.
Has stalemated and on occasion beaten the Mighty Thor on several occasions.
Nearly killed Wonder Man had he not been saved by Masterson Thor.
Beat down the Thing in a few punches, then later in a few more.
Easily was overpowering Savage Hulk, and wouldve beaten him had his ear drums not been practically destroyed by a close up of the Hulk's thunderclap.
Beat down the entire Fantastic Four.
Lifted up and slammed the entire Baxter Building.
Took a punch from the Juggernaut unphased then took Juggy by the wrist and threw him across the ocean.
Has flew the fastest of any living being ever in Marvel, 100x the Speed of Light!
Has overpowered and beaten Hyperion, the leader of the Squadron Supreme.
Helped defeat the Fallen One and the new Beyonder in the recent Thanos series.
Has been shown to be true on his claim of being able to move planets with his feats of moving Planet-sized meteors.
Is only 6'6'' and is very slim, yet he has so much muscle that he weighs nearly 600 pounds.
Was helpful in the defeat of Tyrant in Silver Surfer Issue 82.

I don't know which comic book you read but Gladiator Beat the crap out of Ego without any help and then battled Silver Surfer to a stalemate. He even broke the Surfer's grasp and hit him with his own surf board.
