He only appeared in four issues (X-men : Magik) but man did he tear stuff up! This thread won't really be broken up into sections like "Origin" or "Fights" because he's (it's) amorphous for the first few issues and only takes shape in the final showdown. But you'll see how powerful he is/was.
Amanda Sefton, aka Magik II, decides to build a database of all the universe's known magic on Earth, away from the 'background noise' of the Splinter Realms. What could possibly go wrong? Well like Skynet, the thing becomes self aware and travels back in time to secure the era of it's birth, then goes on a rampage!

Well the universe's whipping boy has a nightmare (irony!) that something powerful and evil is coming for him. He wakes up to find that it was more of a premonition than a dream! Nightmare dies. His minions flee his realm as the Archenemy destroys it and slaughters Nightmare's pawns. They make it to Limbo where they are repelled by Magik and her forces. Magik senses something is amiss!

Dormammu and Magik decide to join forces and intercept the next realm that Dormammu senses will fall to the Archenemy. What's Dormammu doing teaming up with Magik you say? Oh his realm was already destroyed by Archenemy and he and his surviving minions ran for their lives. Anyway, they make it to Muspell the kingdom of Surtur, rival of Odin and King of the Fire Giants, only to find he's already dead, his kingdom a burnt out husk, and Twilight and the Eternal Flame extinguished! Before they can do anything else, they are attacked by Archenemy. As their forces are getting slaughtered, Dormammu and Magik combine their powers and flee, taking any of their surviving army members with them.

Magik and crew find out that the next target is none other than Mephisto and his realm of Hell itself. Mephisto refuses to hear Magik out at first, they scuffle, then he settles down long enough to "hear" the coming foe. With his fortress assaulted and his minions being torn to shreds, Mephisto is still defiant! But even he realizes that he's no match for the Archenemy. Mephisto, whose power in his realm is called "god-like" by Magik; Mephisto who fought Galactus to a standstill in his realm, Mephisto who finally realizes he's no match for Archenemy, even with Magik's help. They combine their powers again and flee with their surviving minions. Hell falls! Even it's rocks screaming in pain.

Magik calls an emergency meeting of EVERY.........HELL LORD..........IN EXISTENCE! They meet in a hall so large "it dwarfs the millions in it". As Magik fills them in on what's going on, a few of them still don't believe the scope of the danger the Archenemy represents. But after Dormammu and a few other major lords suggest a temporary truce to confront their common foe, the rest grudgingly agree. They do the unthinkable. They combine ALL their realms into one HUGE hell, easier to defend one huge realm than many tens of millions splintered ones (or so they believed).

It starts! Magik blows the Horn of Harrowing and the Splinter Lords begin their combined assault. Notice, since they formed a pact last post combining ALL their realms into one and swearing to defend the new mega-realm, he's fighting EVERY SPLINTER LORD IN THE UNIVERSE. Archenemy's initial assault kills HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS. He tramples the walls of Limbo underfoot, the very walls that are the bulwark between the Splinter Realms and the Outer Void, the very walls that haven't been breached since.......forever. Dormammu and Mephisto's surviving minions attack from various fronts, but as you'll see below, it's ineffective.

A few of the surviving Splinter Lords combine their powers and using Magik as a focus, cast a powerful divination spell (look at what happens to Magik under the strain of the spell, bleeding from every orifice on her face) trying to find out the Archenemy's nature. It turns out that the database of witchcraft that Magik was amassing was the very thing responsible for the creation of this creature! Magik sends Kurt aka Nightcrawler to disrupt the database, cut off from it's source of power, the Archenemy is confused and weakened. Then Magik strikes with her Soul Sword and disrupts it's body, killing it. The backlash reduces Limbo to a smoldering ruin, the fires would burn for weeks and it would take that long to bury the dead. The dead Splinter Lords and their destroyed realms would reform over time.
