It was a beautiful night in Metropolis. Superman was flying over the city on the look out for trouble. Meanwhile, in a luxurious apartment at the top of a building mostly containing the wealthy, Diana, Princess of Themyscira, otherwise known as Wonder Woman, looked on as Clark’s wife packed her bags with clothes. Lois was heading out of the country to the Middle East. There had been reports of a growing shadow military and she jumped onto the race to get the scoop. Reporters from all over the globe were heading there after getting a huge tip from an anonymous source about said military holding a conference. Clark wanted to go but he had a few stories to run for the Daily Planet, not to mention keeping Metropolis and the rest of the world safe.
“Is there any way I could change your mind?” Diana asked as she stood next to the open balcony door, the breeze gently blowing the curtains.
“No,” was Lois’ quick reply as she zipped her last bag.
“Someone from the League…”
“No. I don’t want any escorts. I’ll be fine… thanks to a certain billionaire.”
Diana smiled at Lois’ last statement. That certain billionaire had ensured that Lois got the best place to stay with the best possible care, not to mention security. Before Diana could reply she heard the sound of a fluttering cape just behind her. As Lois turned to get something from her dresser, she spotted Diana. The Princess had crossed her arms and was looking to the outside with a slight smile on her lips. Whoever was outside didn’t want to be seen and Lois and Diana knew who that was.

“Take this!” came the haunting, gruff command from the shadows.
Seconds after, an object was thrown from the darkness towards Lois. She caught it with ease and looked at it. It was a blue version to the Smallville High School ring she had seen before, minus Red Kryptonite, and engraved on the round part was the logo of the Daily Planet. There was also a small, dark, button like shape at the centre. “I already have a ring,” she said with a smile, using her fingers to turn the object.
“Then put that over it. Wouldn’t want anyone to see the platinum.”
Lois sighed. “What is this, Bruce?”
“A transmitter. Oracle will be monitoring you at all times and if there is trouble push the button in the centre. We’ll be there as soon as we can… Clark will be there as soon as he can.”
“My… I feel important.” There was no reply, only the sound of the fluttering curtains in the bedroom. “Anything else?”
A few seconds past before the man in the darkness replied. “Be safe. I can’t handle a brooding Superman.”
“Look who’s talking,” Diana muttered and Lois smirked because she was thinking the same thing.
Again, there was no reply for a few seconds.
“Princess…” And with that Diana heard a slightly louder flutter from the outside, signalling that the Batman was gone.
“Great Hera!” the Princess exclaimed, throwing up her arms and letting out an exasperated sigh. “I hate it when he calls me that!”
Lois snickered as she observed the Princess. “Oh, come on! You know you like it. Do you know how many women have had orgasms just by listening to that voice?”
Diana’s eyes widened for a few seconds before narrowing them in a challenging fashion. She crossed her arms again and with a smirk she replied, “Does that include you?”
Lois cleared her throat and continued on to her dresser.
