Alright here is what the post said:

Many of you have been witnessing some of the strange posts and diappearances of late, and we'd like to explain what's been going on so the total confusion doesn't remain.

I'm sure many of you will remember a member named BratBiotch. This began when she was banned from the KTTC site. She made some excellent points, and loved a good argument; the problem was that she also loved to insult people, call them names (she even called T&T liars), and over and over again we asked her through e-mail and PMs to be less agressive toward people, and stressed that she could have any point of view about the POTC Movies she liked, but no matter what it was, she was expected to present her views with human respect and without insult to other members and actors in these movies.

No less than a day after we sent her a final warning of being removed from the site with any further problem, she posted exactly the same way again. Her ability to post was removed, and before we could even compose a letter explaining exactly why and telling her that we wanted her to take a break and spend some time reviewing our TOU before postihg again, she had gone behind our backs and opened another account. She lied to us and to all of you about who she was, and introduced herself as new to KTTC. At that time, by forcing her way onto this space when she had been asked not to, her ban became permanent.

Evidently, being asked not to come back to our space on the Internet was more than she could handle. She belongs to another film based message board at KMC.com. Several of our members who have accounts on both boards have let us know almost daily that she has told this story in a very slanted way, much in the manner she made her posts here. She has several people on that site convinced that she was unfairly removed from this board, and they are so in need of something to post about or amuse themselves, several of them have opened accounts at KTTC for the sole purpose of relaying messages from her. We consider it a form of sockpuppeting to open 2 or more accounts, and that is clearly an offence in our TOU. We also consider it "trolling" to post the words of another for no reason other than to interrupt the flow of conversations on our board. As this is also a bannable offence here, we are and will continue to ban these members who are trolling and sockpuppeting as they come to light. We will NOT get into a shouting match with them, we'd prefer to be adults and just try to end the issue. All we desire is for them to leave us alone on our own space. They seem unable to do that, so further steps are being taken.

That sort of explains the recent rash of disappearihng members and posts, and you have an explanation of what has been going on. We appreciate any and all help you can give us. If you know of someone playing this game, please send the user ID here to one of the Mods and we'll check.

As always, you can be for Will, you can be for Jack, you can be for everyone dying for all we care - but you are required to present the arguments for your opinions with respect to fellow users, people associated with these films, and not post your views with the intent of starting an argument. You'll notice that any time any of the shipper threads or Thunderdome have been threatened for closing, it was because users stepped over the bounds of form, not because they had an opinion to share. No one on KTTC has ever been penalized for having a viewpoint on anything regarding these movies, just for the way they choose to present it and themselves.

We do appreciate the example set by most of you most of the time, you have radically opposing views on some things, yet are able to discuss and respect each other's right to disagree with you. The situations we deal with are the users who are not able to do that, and call names and insult members who do not agree with them. We just remind you to step back and take a breath when the temptation is there for that, and keep doing the good job of policing yourselves you already do.

our thread just has very different values that kttc. because they are considered the "official" site, they have to be pretty anal. or they choose to be. in any case, they have big important people looking in on them all the time, apparantly. they have to keep the house looking perfect, if you know what i mean.

i find this to be something of a contradiction to the point of internet forums in the first place.

its disappointing to me that they would sink to such a low and obviously spiteful message of explanation to their members. However, I know the J/L shippers of the forum remember you fondly and understand that the story on kttc has a real slant to it. the mods on that site do not impress me. they choose to attack and ban certain posts (posts, for example, with sarcastic references or spoilers that may point to a j/l ending) and choose to ignore racy and rude posts made by other members. I dont understand the logic behind this at all. but that is their site, so i suppose they can run it that way if they want.

i know most kttc members belong to other forums where they can test out ideas and vent their true feelings when they get frustrated.

i wish they would leave kmc alone, though. i'm quite frustrated with the way they've handled this.

and i'm quite happy with our laizze-faire style of modding. rogue, you are awesome.
