Chris Redfield. Ex-Air Force pilot, one of five people who survived Spencer Mansion, all-around badass. A classic in the world of survival horror.
Full Name: Christopher Redfield Birthdate: 1973 (25 in Resident Evil 1, now 34) Place of Birth New York, USA Blood Type: O Height: 5'9" Weight: 80.5kg Occupation: Former member of the R.P.D. S.T.A.R.S. (Alpha Unit) - Point Man Specialty: Marksman, Pilot Family: Parents unknown; Claire Redfield, sister Likes: Cigarettes Dislikes: Umbrella Corporation, Albert Wesker Portrayed By: Charlie (Resident Evil 1. Could be the same guy in the live action intro who does the voice. A real enigma indeed.) Joe Whyte (Gamecube Remake), Michael Fillipovich (Code Veronica X)
Chris began his career as a pilot in the Air Force. He spent quite some time there before being kicked out for reasons unknown. There has been much speculation over why he was kicked out, ranging from his temper to disobeying orders. Either way, he soon became a drifter before he was spotted by Barry Burton, who noticed his talent and recruited him for S.T.A.R.S., the Special Tactics and Rescue Squad in Raccoon City.
Chris and Barry completed several missions together over the next three years, Chris quickly rising the ranks of the team and becoming an elite marksman as well as a skilled pilot. New members were soon recruited and the team sent on what would prove to be their last mission together. Sent into the Arclay Mountain region surrounding Raccoon City, the assignment was simple. Locate the missing Bravo team. However it soon became a fight for survival, as the Alpha team were almost instantly attacked by crazed dogs once on the ground and they were forced into a nearby mansion.
It was here that Chris found Rebecca Chambers, a new recruit to the Bravo team, and also the grizzly remains of quite a few other Bravo members. Things were obviously not right in the mansion, as it was not only infested with, to Chris' horror, zombies, but other unholy creatures as well. Not to mention the crazy puzzles and confusing rooms.
After thoroughly investigating the area Chris found himself in some underground labs, and it was here that everything started to unravel. A company named Umbrella, mostly known for making pharmacuticals, were secretly creating Bio Organic Weapons and deadly viruses. Worse, Alpha captain Albert Wesker was actually working for them, and had masterminded the whole ordeal.
Finally giving up his facade, Wesker decided to show Chris Umbrella's ultimate weapon - the Tyrant. A massive, uncontrollable creature that soon showed its true colours by gutting Wesker without a second thought. Chris managed to briefly put it down and give himself time to escape. Elsewhere Rebecca set off the mansion's self destruct sequence, and also finding Jill nearby the remaining team members took off. Not before one last battle with the Tyrant however, and when Brad, pilot for the Alpha team finally returned, he handed Chris some much needed help. A rocket launcher. Blasting the Tyrant into a million pieces the team took off, the mansion exploding underneath them and effectively destroying all evidence of Umbrella's wrong doings.
Upon their arrival back in Raccoon City the remaining S.T.A.R.S. members tried to warn the city of what they had discovered, but no one would believe their crazy stories. Worse, the Chief of Police was in on the whole deal, and did all he could to help discredit them, and generally make life hell for all around them. Chris became obsessive in his quest to bring Umbrella to justice, and soon rediscovered his worst fears - Umbrella were creating a new virus, this time more deadly and unstable than the last.
Deciding to hit Umbrella head on, Chris quit the S.T.A.R.S. and left for Europe, Umbrella's headquarters. He remained there for a few months, eventually meeting up with Barry and Jill from the Alpha team after they finally escaped from Raccoon City as well.
It wasn't long however before Chris' urgent help was needed elsewhere. His sister Claire, who had been searching for him since the mansion incident, discovered that Umbrella had him under surveillance. More urgently however, she needed his help, as she had been captured and was stuck on an island infested with zombies. Claire managed to get her message to Leon, an R.P.D. officer, who used the coordinates to find Chris and pass the message on.
Chris quickly set off to find his sister. Arriving at Rockfort Island he found it nothing but a warzone. The one remaining survivor, Rodrigo, briefly gave him news about Claire before passing away. She had managed to escape the island, but where she had gone, he didn't know. Invesigating the area, Chris was soon reaquainted with an old buddy; Wesker. Now superhuman thanks to a virus he had injected from Umbrella, Wesker quickly set upon beating Chris up, but not before revealing the whereabouts of his sister; Umbrella's Antartic base.
Wesker eventually left Chris to continue on his own mission, and Chris took one of the nearby Harrier Jets, heading for Antartica. Upon arrival Chris found more of the same, but eventually found his sister and they had a long awaited reunion. It was cut short however by the appearance of Alexia Ashford, demonic head of the base. Claire fled to help her friend Steve while Chris remained, having to defeat Alexia before he could move on.
Chris later caught up to Claire, but found her locked behind a security door. Only the self destruct system could open it, so he set it off and they were reunited once again. However, this reunion was also interrupted by Alexia, and in a brutal battle Chris finally finished her off once and for all... only to find himself face to face with Wesker, holding his sister hostage. The two briefly battled, but as the base self destructed around them both decided their fight could wait till next time and took off.
Chris and Claire escaped the base, but their work wasn't over yet. Chris reminded Claire they still had one more thing left to do - bring Umbrella down.
Chris' current whereabouts are unknown. We can only assume he went back to Europe with his sister and again joined forces with Jill and Barry to continue their work there.

Chris has gone from being lanky to having gained a ton of muscle. I'll bet he has Guile as his personal trainer.
Chris's Revamped Bio
Full Name: Christopher Redfield Birthdate: month unknown, 1973 (25 at the time of the Arklay Incident, the Raccoon Outbreak, and the code: Veronica Incident); 35-36 (as of Resident Evil 5) Height: 5'9" retconned to 6'1" Weight: 177 lbs originally, now 216 lbs Hair: Brown Eyes: Brown Blood Type: O Family: parents deceased - killed in a car accident; Claire Redfield, sister Allies: Jill Valentine, anyone who despises Umbrella and bioweapons in general Enemies: Albert Wesker is No.1 on his shit list Occupation: Former member of the R.P.D. S.T.A.R.S. (Alpha Unit) - Point Man; currently a member of the B.S.A.A. Portrayed By: Charlie (Resident Evil 1. Could be the same guy in the live action intro who does the voice. A real enigma indeed.) Joe Whyte (Gamecube Remake), Michael Fillipovich (Code Veronica X); Roger Jaye Smith (RE5)
Christopher Redfield was a S.T.A.R.S operative whose entire life was turned upside down during the Mansion Incident, when he and his fellow S.T.A.R.S. uncovered the scope of the Umbrella Corporation's experiments with the T-virus. Barely escaping from the Zombies and B.O.W.s with his life, Chris and the other remaining S.T.A.R.S. were quickly turned into fugitives by Umbrella. Chris and his comrades joined the Anti-Umbrella Movement to continue the fight against the evil corporation, intending to end their experiments in viral weaponry and bring them to justice. After succeeding (primarily due to the behind-the-scenes assistance of Chris' former commanding officer Albert Wesker), Chris became an operative of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, his experience in fighting above-normal biohazards serving him well.
Chris lived with his sibling, Claire. The two became close and forged a bond that lasted for years, which was tempered with the untimely deaths of their parents in a car accident. At some time, Chris served in the United States Air Force, but later gave up a military career for a job in the Raccoon City Police Department, and eventually became a member of their elite S.T.A.R.S. unit. With time, Chris and Claire saw less and less of each other, with the former going into law-enforcement and the latter going to a university.

When Bravo team failed to return from a mission in the Arklay Mountains, the S.T.A.R.S Alpha team went in after them before being attacked by a pack of vicious dogs and forced to retreat into a mansion. Chris and Jill investigate the mansion, finding the corpses of their fellow S.T.A.R.S member and eventually, the surviving Bravo Team members Richard Aiken, Rebecca Chambers and Enrico Marini, though all but Rebecca fell. It was eventually learned that Wesker had set up his comrades to test some of the Umbrella Corporations' experiments and released the Tyrant on them in an attempt to finish them off. However, Wesker is struck down by the Tyrant and is seemingly killed. With Rebecca activating the self destruct sequence, Chris finds Jill, and the three along escape to the top platform where Brad Vickers is to pick them up. Just as Brad approaches, the Tyrant returns and attacks the trio, who destroy the Tyrant, and escape the mansion before it self-destructs.
The survivors are influenced by the player the character chooses. Though canonically Chris, Jill, Rebecca and Barry Burton survive, Barry is not seen in Chris' scenario or in the Umbrella Chronicles representation of the game.
Chris Redfield returns to the series in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, where he, after receiving a message from Leon, heads to Rock Fort Island in an attempt to rescue his young sister. He soon learns that Claire isn't there, but discovers that Wesker had somehow survived their encounter in the Arklay mountains and carries a strong vendetta against Chris. After following Claire to Antarctica, he finds her in a replica of Spencer's mansion and eventually confronts Alexia Ashford, the creator of the T-Veronica Virus who had mutated to combat Weskers strength. With Claire's help Chris is able to finish her off and has a brief showdown with Wesker, which is interrupted by the destruction of the facility. Chris escapes the facility along with Claire in a fighter jet before it is destroyed.
Afterwards, Chris focused his life towards exposing and destroying the Umbrella Corporation. He made his next appearance in the series in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, where he fought alongside with Jill to attack an Umbrella facility located in Russia. It was there that Sergei Vladimir used Umbrella's final bio-weapon, T-A.L.O.S., in combat against Chris and Jill, resulting in its destruction. Their mission succeeded and the Umbrella Corporation began to decline within a short period of time.

After the collapse of Umbrella, rivals and terrorist groups managed to get their hands on Umbrella's projects. With the growing fear of a bio-terror holocaust in Africa, Chris and Jill joined a Bioterror Assessment group partly to locate Wesker who was revealed to be alive in Resident Evil: Code Veronica. After a mission to arrest Ozwell Spencer turns into a mission to take down Wesker himself, Chris is put into a position in favor of Wesker and Jill takes matters into her own hands and tackles Wesker through a window presumably killing both.
A couple years later, Chris is sent to Kijuju to arrest a Bio weapon dealer named Ricardo Irving along with fellow BSAA member Sheva Alomar. They soon discover that Kijuju is suffering from new forms of Las Plagas, and are forced to take down hordes of vicious majini. With the aid of other B.S.A.A members Kirk Mathison and Josh Stone they are able to survive through a variety of horrific dangers eventually coming into contact with Ricardo who evades them with his partner, A mysterious Cloaked woman. It is soon after that Chris comes upon a file depicting a blonde girl who he recognized as being his old friend and partner, Jill Valentine.
With Ricardo eventually taken down, Chris decides to disobey orders to find out what became of Jill and, hopefully, bring her back alive. The two eventually locate the room in which the picture of Jill was taken. Chris frantically types Jill's name into the computer which locates her capsule, however, they are attacked by a large monster known as a U-8. After its defeat, they discover the capsule to be empty. An angered Chris continues his search with Sheva. They are then introduced to Excella Gionne who warns them to leave and denies any knowledge of Jill Valentine to which Sheva concludes to be a lie and the two work to track her down. Once locating Excella the two are attacked by Irving's accomplice, the agile cloaked woman, who overwhelms the two marking Albert Wesker's arrival. Chris becomes aggressive, but is left speechless when Wesker reveals the identity of the cloaked woman to be Jill herself. Chris, noticing that Jill may be under control, attempts to talk her round, but she attacks again. Wesker and Jill begin battle with Chris and Sheva, quickly overpowering them. Chris call's out Jill's name in a last attempt and she begins to resist a mechanism that Wesker had implanted in her chest. Chris manages to take it off returning Jill to her previous state. She collapses and Chris rushes to her aid. Though greatly weakened, Jill is well and tells the two to take out Wesker. Chris is at first reluctant to leave Jill alone, but she grabs him and tells him only he can stop Wesker. Chris backs into the elevator, while Jill tells Sheva to take care of him.
The pair find Excella and she runs off in a panic, dropping a vial of something which Sheva keeps after Chris explains it may be important if Excella wanted to guard it so badly. Later it soon becomes clear that Wesker has no loyalty to Excella when she is revealed to have been injected with the Uroboros, mutating and attacking the two, though they are eventually able to defeat her, turning their sights to Wesker. It is then that Chris receives a call from Jill who explains that Wesker needs to inject himself with a virus to keep it stable inside of him, but overdosing would weaken him. It is then that the two find out the vial Excella had dropped is the vrus they need to inject Wesker with. After a very one sided battle with him, Chris and Sheva manage to take control briefly and inject the virus into Wesker's, neck causing him to flee onto his airship with Chris and Sheva in hot pursuit. They manage to take advantage of his weakness and send him flying out of the cargo room but their advantage decreases when he grabs Sheva's leg in an attempt to take them down with him. Sheva tries to sacrifice herself to kill Wesker, but as Chris watches, images of Jill rush through his mind as he remembers how he thought he had lost her trying to kill Wesker. He jumps to grab Sheva as she loses her grip, with Wesker determined to take both of them, but Sheva shoots him in the face and he is sucked from the plane. Crashing in a volcano, Chris and Sheva are shocked to find Wesker alive and angry, puncturing a container of Uroboros, Wesker begins to mutate with it and attacks Chris and Sheva. They retreat, but the rocks they cross over break they are separated. Sheva shouts that Chris get higher so she can attack Wesker, who turns his attention towards her. Stranded, she shouts for help and Chris is forced to push a huge boulder out of the way so Sheva can join him. Wesker follows but Chris and Sheva are able to overpower him, and as Wesker stands injured, the ground beneath him begins to break and he slips into the lava. Jill and Josh arrive in a helicopter and Jill throws down a rope ladder, Sheva grabs it instantly, but as Chris goes for it, the ground beneath him also breaks. He stumbles, and jumps for the ladder, catching it one handed. Sheva and Chris are helped into the helicopter only for Wesker to emerge from the lava and catch one of his tentacles onto the helicopter skids, Jill informs Chris and Sheva of two RPG-7's behind them. Taking aim, they both fire and Wesker is killed.
As they fly away, Chris laments on whether everything he has done so far was worth it, and as he, Sheva and Jill share a look, he decides it was.
