Notes:
1. This thread is broken into sections based on the characters.
2. I don’t consider the Kev story arc nor the Lobo crossovers to be continuity. They’re hilarious and cool, but not really believable. So there’s 1 scan from Kev in this thread but that’s it.
3. This is merely feats. For anyone unfamiliar with these characters, I’d recommend picking up something of The Authority. They’re Wildstorm comics (owned by DC) and are sweet as hell.
4. Enjoy! This is how a respect thread should be done. Many others are very good too, and there’s plenty that are better than this thread, but some are woefully bereft of substance.
5. I’m missing issues 1-6 of Volume 1 (The Relentless arc). There are a few cool feats (like the Doctor telekinetically holding Italy) but every other major Authority arc should be covered here.
6. With Spider-Man and now The Authority, I’m trying to cover everyone that I know a lot about. Next on the list are Alan Scott and/or The Tick, but I have a ways to go before I have enough on them to make a respect thread.
Part I. Apollo
Part II. The Midnighter
Part III. Angie (The Engineer)
Part IV. Jack Hawksmoor
Part V. Swift
Part VI. The Doctor
Part VII. Jenny
B. The Midnighter – Can run millions of combat variations through his head before a fight even starts, and has implants that allow him to see the enhancements other people have. Also has slightly enhanced strength/healing/agility/etc. Generally just a supreme badass.
Not a great scene for MN’er, but here it’s revealed that he has a backup heart. The one Seth ripped out was later replaced and healed by Angie and the Doctor. http://img369.imageshack.us/my.php?image=60gz.jpg
VII. Jenny – Since neither has a ton of ‘screen-time’ as it were, this is both Jenny Sparks and Jenny Quantum. Jenny Sparks is like Electro x 5. Jenny Quantum is too powerful to accurately quantify at the moment. The first feat is Sparks. The rest are Quantum.
Barring some old Stormwatch stuff for a few of them, and the "Secret History of the Authority" run (and my missing Relentless arc), this is pretty much every major feat of the Authority. They're still relatively young as teams go, but I counted just over 100 scans...so I was happy with the outcome.
And I prefer this method rather than slowly stretching out the scans over a bunch of pages. This format makes the thread easier to navigate, even if subsequent pages will be rather boring in comparison.
The only "major" feats that aren't here (that I know of) are:
-Jack wearing the city of Tokyo as body armor (from Stormwatch)
-The Doctor telekinetically holding Italy in place while the rest of the world turned
-The Doctor turnng a swarm of superhumans into trees
-Engineer creating a field of microscopic blades capable of cutting someone at the molecular level.
(the last 3 are all from Relentless)
Depends. The Doctor should win, but he's constantly written as a flake, so it's not unreasonable to assume Strange would be the more disciplined of the two and figure something out. At the very least, Strange could counter-act his control over reality on himself, so The D couldn't turn him into a ham sandwich in the opening seconds of the fight. Strange does have experience countering reality control (IG anyone?).
Still, The Doctor has more overall power and versatility. Written to potential, he should win every time. In reality it would probably be more like 6/10 though.
Hey, I do think this thread is good, but I think the last Doctor Feat is actually a Jack Hawksmoor one, judging from Jack's reaction and nature of the feat.
I can see how it could be seen that way, but the purple glow gives it away. That's The D's trademark color, and it's also doubtful that even Jack could hurl the Eiffel Tower into space. It's also out of context with just that 1 scan, and I think I remember it showing the Doctor doing something to that effect the page before it.
