Because no one demanded it! Because Reign in Hell seems to be pushing him higher! Because Mephisto gets too much play!
Here's a quick Neron respect thread I did, just because I found out that the character had so few appearances. I didn't bother to include his feats of intelligence because, quite literally virtually every appearance he has had shows him to be an incredible manipulator, with feats of planning and manipulation incredibly complex AND effective. If I have time later I'll add them, but they are numerous and play out over a number of pages in a lot of cases.
Moreover, I didn't bother to include scans of how the Neron-enhanced beings did. Again, if I have time I will do so (as some of them were really quite remarkable, allowing Mr. Freeze to go up against Green Lantern and Shadowthief to take on Captain Marvel and Flash)
Gives Kid Devil his abilities, changing him from a normal kid to a being with the ability to breath hellfire, enhanced strength and agility, increased durability and the ability to teleport among others yet to show themselves.
Hurts the Spectre, then tricks him into leaving him alone during Underworld Unleashed by splitting him off from Corrigan, defying the power of God himself.
Neron increases Circe’s power, gets rid of Dr. Neal Emerson’s split personality, heals Lex Luthor’s cancer, gives real true magic to Abra Kadabra…and gives a box of Cubans to the Joker.
But he’s powerful enough and convincing enough to have them all under his control, to a degree.
Takes the combined attacks of some of the most powerful beings on DCU to virtually no ill effect, then casually takes them all down with one blast.
The Sentinel of this era, I should mention, was the internalized version with no weakness to wood. The same version sped up time for an entire planet in the pages of JLA.
Totally intimidates Lilth, mother of all demons and vampires, Belial, high level demon of hell, and Asmodel, former Commander of the Bull Host of God’s armies
I was very surprised by his complete lack of genuine low showings as I looked through his series. He always gets defeated by a plot device - love, or a bad deal, but never physical power.
Moreover, he appears to be one of the most intelligent schemers ever. I couldn't believe the complexity and effectiveness of a lot of his plans.
