Love over the net
I was having a discussion with a couple of friends the other day who were discussing whether or not you can fall in love over the Internet. (Or MSN etc) I was neutral and was wondering what other people thought.
Your thoughts.

It's impossible, it's total bullshit. No one can ever fall in love like that. It's just for pathetic losers.

What makes you think that?
Can you...like someone in that way over the net?

If it's just treated as a place where you can meet someone like that, it's fine, also as a facilitator.
People who actually have "relationships" online with no intent or means to further it, though, that's silly.
Otherwise, I see no difference between meeting online then continuing to meet in real life and meeting first, then going long-distance.

That sounds reasonable and was the basis of his argument.

The truth is you can never really know anyone on the net. What if the person is a rapist or a killer. It is very dangerous. Besides it is impossible to develope feelings without being physically near a person. It's just for sad losers who can't get any in real life, it doesn't mean anything. Only stupid pathetic idiots fall in love online. When you look at it rationally you will see that meeting a person in real life, maybe a bar, is the only real way of falling in love, you also know more about a person once you met them than you can ever after talking to them online. What if they lie to you and make shit up, if you don't see them you will never be sure whether they lie.
And 90% of people that meet other people on the net are child molesters and kill you when you meet them, that's a fact.

I've heard that everyone who connects to the internet infact rapes children.
This is supported by the fact that you are on the internet, Bardock.

They could. But what if they don't then when they actual meet what they have sad is true.
Using your beliefs then no they wont. But that can't always happen and they were honest and were themselves.

Your thoughts. As I've said in other threads based exactly on this topic: "It's impossible to fall completely in love over the internet."
There are things that are required for Love to happen that just don't happen over the Internet.

Well, that's okay, my arguments are really superficial and stupid though.

I wouldn't say it's impossible.
However.....I think it's more probable that you fall into infatuation, rather love at first. I think love is something you'd have to develop more, over time.
I wouldn't mind a relationship like that, I guess. I've met so many nice people here on KMC that actually respect me, and treat me sometimes, like an average human being.
Except Bardock.......
