EVANGEL94's Final Slugfest Tournament Announcement - Rules and Sign-Up Thread
Welcome to Evangel94’s Final Slugfest Tournament.
Let me start off by explaining what this tournament is about. To put it simply, you can draft whomever or whatever you want as long as you can pay the cost. If you want to draft Thanos, go ahead. Do you want to draft Darkseid? No problem. Do you want Galactus? If you reeaallly feel that the tall guy with the purple hat is worth it, be my guest. All participants are given 25 points, which they use to purchase characters/items and abilities that will form their team.
This will be my final slugfest tournament for KMC forums.
1 Point – Street Class: “no superhuman powers with no enhanced meta-level or higher gadgets/devices”
Batman, Black Panther, Captain America, Daredevil, Nightwing, Black widow, Green Arrow, Hawkeye, etc
2 Points – Meta Class: “above Batman, Black Panther, Captain America, but below Iron Man”
Spiderman, Cyclops, Angel, Mr. Fantastic, Beast, Gambit, Venom, Carnage, Jubilee, various X-men (check with me), Mystique, etc
4 Points – Enhanced Meta Class: Spider-Man to Power Girl/War Machine (included here is Aquarian)
Various “Regular” Iron Man Armors and various remote controlled armors, Dr. Doom, War Machine, Warbird, Non-phoenix Jean Grey, Storm, Colossus, Thing, Human Torch, She-Hulk, etc
5 Points – Prime Meta Class:
Extremis Iron Man, Hulkbuster Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Absorbing man, Professor Xavier (in wheel chair), Vision, All incarnations of Hulk (except World War Hulk), Clone Thor aka Clor, Hercules, Exemplars (Regular Juggernaut, Bedlam, Conquest, Carnivore, Inferno, and Tempest),
6 Points – Herald Class: “From Flash to Silver Surfer”
Flash, Ultron, She-Ultron, Sentry, Green Lanterns and Sinestro Corps members, World War Hulk, All Heralds of Galactus (except Morg with Waters of Life), (non-Casey) Majestic, Thor, Current Superman, Warlock (automatically comes with soul gem), Engineer, Grey Gargoyle, Mimic, Rogue, Super-Adaptoid, The Exemplar “Stonecutter”, and 8th Day Juggernaut, etc
10 Points – Enhanced Herald Class: you may choose only among the following: Apocalypse, Champion (no gem), Count Nefaria, Despero, Graviton, and Thanos (pre-resurrection). Included in this category are the following Infinity Gems (Mind Gem, Power Gem, and Space Gem. The soul gem comes automatically with Warlock, and you cannot pick the soul gem by itself. Reality and Time Gems are banned).
20 Points – Prime Herald Class: you may choose only among the following: Amazo, Darkseid (as he has appeared in the last 3 years), Doomsday (Hunter/Prey), Fernus, Galactus (starving, e.g., FF #243), Hela, Morg with Waters of Life and Power Cosmic, Pluto (Marvel), Runner (no gem), Thunderbolt.
No other “Enhanced Herald” or “Prime Herald” characters are allowed other than the ones listed above. Any drafted item comes with all the stipulations and restrictions it normally has. Strangers to their drafted items will only have rudimentary knowledge of how to use the item, although more can be gained during prep.
This is how it will work. You get all the powers a character normally has. If you want to utilize a power the character has that is listed under the Extra Abilities section, it will cost you extra points. If the power is not listed there, it doesn't cost you anything extra. The ability points are added on top of choosing the character with this ability. So Sersi with organic matter transmutation is 18 points. Sersi without the organic matter transmutation is 6 points. Wolverine and Sabretooth are 3 points unless you choose the versions without adamantium.
Characters that are in Prime Herald Class do not need to pay for their powers listed in the extra abilities section. They get the full range of their abilities. Thus, Hela with her death touch is 20 points, Amazo with power duplication is 20 points, and Darkseid with the Omega Effect is 20 points. Prime Herald Class characters must still pay for
Extra Abilities List and their Points
1 – Adamantium/Vibranium: Use adamantium and/or vibranium devices/weapons (only applicable to characters who commonly use Adamantium and/or Vibranium. For example Black Panther and his vibranium knives and weapons).

5 – Mind Control: Control one foe (failure is possible based on plausibility of battle writeup; Mind Control can also be used on unruly teammates with failure possible based on plausibility of battle writeup)

19 – Reality Warp: Warp reality to your whim (only applicable to characters who have the ability to warp reality)
Motivation: The winners will each be granted their single most fondest wish. The losers will see their single most loved one destroyed/killed/obliterated.
#1 Characters must all derive from comic companies based in the United States or United Kingdom. All characters must come with links to be eligible. No characters in cartoons or movies without corresponding comic book appearances are allowed.
#2 Characters will act in-character. If character nature dictates it, there can be in-fighting amongst team members despite the motivation. Warlock will only use the soul suck as a last resort against a ruthless villain who is killing his teammates, never on a hero. Same with Blackbolt’s scream or Thor’s godblast.
#3 The scientific lab and the mystic sanctum for prep are well equipped, but they do not house endless resources, e.g., building a giant attack craft or a huge army of robots.
#4 At the beginning of each new round, characters will be revitalized and any prep and/or knowledge they gained during the previous round will be scrapped and forgotten.
#5 Only one version of a character may be selected. For example, if the 616 version of Wolverine is taken, his Ultimate version is off-limits. This goes for any character with the same name. Once Batman is chosen, Batman 1 Million is ineligible. Once Ollie Green Arrow is taken, Connor Green Arrow is ineligible.
#6 Each team is allowed only one amalgam. These cannot be pre-existing amalgams from cross-overs. They are your own home-made amalgam. Amalgam combinations from the comics, e.g.Doom/Surfer, will not necessarily be like how they appeared in the comics. Amalgam powers are not cumulative, i.e., merging Wonder Man and Wonder Woman does not give you CL 200 strength; you are simply whoever is the strongest in their respective power categories. You must designate whose mind and body the amalgam possesses. All amalgams will have full knowledge of how to use all their powers.
#7 The default is no prep whatsoever and no knowledge of who you are fighting. You must expend points to obtain prep and/or knowledge. Superspeed does not enhance prep time in any way. On the other hand, assume instant familiarity with all teammates. Any damage incurred during prep will carry on to the battlefield.
#8 Once you have decided on what to allocate your points on, those are set for the entirety of the tournament. They cannot be changed between rounds.
#9 Victory is gained by killing, knocking unconscious, or immobilizing all of your opponents for 10 continuous minutes.
Regulations
Fights will occur in various environments at my discretion.
Examples of Environments that may be used are:
a) In the middle of a Blizzard in Antarctica
b) Sahara desert in the middle of a Sandstorm
c) An evacuated San Francisco with extremely thick fog.
d) Caribbean island in the middle of a typhoon
e) A very Dense and thick tropical African jungle
f) On the rim of an active volcano on a Pacific island
g) Underground with a vast cave interior (with no natural light source)
h) Asteroid M
An impenetrable force field with a diameter of 10 miles surrounds these environments in all directions and it prevents anyone from going in or out. (This includes teleporters.) Thus, no one can be summoned, even from other dimensions, to help. The locations however do have their natural inhabitants (except evacuated cities), so characters who can control animals can still call on them to help. Opponents start on opposite sides of the battlefield.
Battles will occur Monday through Friday with a break on the weekends. No write-ups are necessary, but that will probably be a big disadvantage against your team. Voters devoting a line (or more) explaining why they voted as they did would be appreciated. I will not post write-ups in advance. You are responsible for posting your own write-up or getting someone else to post your write-up for you.
Opening Write-Up posts are limited to 1000 words in length including any links. Subsequent posts by participants have no limit. Voters are encouraged to read both write-ups before voting.
Changes to the rules can be made as objections arise or appropriate suggestions are made. I retain the power to nullify votes or change the rules if I feel it is necessary.
To participate, you must have at least 1000 posts on KMC forums. Voting can be done by any forum member with at least 1000 posts on KMC forums.
I will allow a maximum of sixteen participants. 6 spots are reserved for people who have received my personal invitation. There will be four days of drafting. Each of the first three days, you can choose any one character or one item by paying the points necessary for that person or item. On the fourth day, you allot all the rest of your points on whatever you wish on a first come, first serve basis. You can draft as many characters as you have points for, e.g., 25 streets, 12 metas, etc. Voting for fights will last until the next fight is posted or I close the match thread. 1 match will take place per day. Every person entered in the tournament must vote.
Now THIS looks like one fun tourney. But are there any reality warpers you can afford to buy the ability for? That applies to all really expensive abilities.
Dr. Strange is draftable. You can draft him for 6 points. Characters between Street and Herald class are not limited to just what I wrote. I wrote that long list of characters to give you an idea where characters fit for their respective categories.
