QuincE's Fullmetal Alchemist: Growth Of The Empire THE RPG

(Finally Open, Enjoy Everyone!)

Fullmetal Alchemist: Growth of The Empire.

In this roleplay, the characters from the anime/manga will be involved, but not frequently. The story takes place in a town/village/cities across the world, and an attempt at world dominance.

In a single night, three major military operated cities are utterly dominated, and taken by force. The assailants are of varying species. Humonculi, Chimaera's, and even Golems (as seen in Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir) All of the species are under the command of one person. Who is yet, unknown. No one knows how this lone alchemist is able to control all of these soldiers, and no one can do anything to stop them.

The game will take place in a variety of places from the show, including Resembool, Central, and even Liore. The characters are from regular soldiers, to state alchemists, to citizens, and others. The story will base on how their town will defend against the onslaught. Sometimes the enemies will come in waves, sometimes there will be moments of peace. If you are an existing character, I will assign you to a specific place, and give you a specific task. If you are a new character, you will reside in the town of Setum Square. A very nice neighborhood, familiar to the Elrics' own Resembool. It is in this town we will deal with the looming threat of the enemy army, and their attempt at establishing a global empire, with possibly the greatest weapon in their possession...The Philosopher's Stone.

Rules:
1.No god-moding, which is pretty much a given.
2.Everyone will have to give a reason why they should play an existing character, and AUDITION for that part.
3.No hatin' on other people.
4.No argueing, and bad attitudes. This will result in replacement, and a forced departure.
5.Anyone's welcome to play.
6.I will reprimand players if need be. Regardless of circumstance.

(I will Play the characters of Edward Elric, Alex Louis Armstrong, Jack Crowell, and Russel Tringham. I will also play a few extra characters here and there.)

Mustang sat quietly, the shades pulled down over the windows, and sunlight barely penetrated the room. His eyes were closed. If someone had just walked into the room at that very moment, they would have though Roy was sleeping. But his close friends knew otherwise. Roy wasn't sleeping. As if someone as dedicated to the state could possibly be caught napping on the job. Close subordinates knew that Roy was thinking - and thinking hard.

Lt Hawkeye, the gorgeous blonde with the deadliest accuracy in the military, stood idly by, waiting for the Colonel to make a move. She noticed that a sweatdrop was sitting on Roy's brow. It was only moments ago that the two had recieved a phone call that had been one of the worst pieces of information they had ever gotten - and being in the military, they knew bad news. West Central.....had been destroyed.

Hawkeye was a bit confused over how the story actually got out, but the tone of the caller was too serious. One of the few survivors of the military had informed the Colonel, and all of the other higher ranked officiers in the military. If the fact that West Central was almost literally obliterated wasn't bad enough, the culprit was much worse.

It seemed as though West Central had been attacked by a variety of culprits. Golems, Chimera's and all other types of alchemic beasts had rallied and destroyed the city. But the one question nagging the beautiful woman, was who these beasts were rallied under....

Roy Mustang was still thinking.

Akane walked through the city of Liore. She watched the sight of the city before her. It was a sickening thing to see. This was the bottom pits of the city, the dregs of the cup that had once brought such clean fresh water to the people, now it was tainted with blood. Akane's soft aqua eyes fell upon a little girl, whose only source of clothing was a small, dirtied cloth to cover her lower torso. Akane felt tears gather in her eyes. In her hand, she held a shopping bag. It didn't contain much, just enough to feed herself and her pet fox, Tsume. She reached into the bag and brought out a loaf of bread.

The little girl looked up, curiousity peaking as she locked her eyes onto the food. Akane tore a piece of bread off and handed it to the small girl. "Here..." The girl blinked curiously at the bread, wondering if that was really for her. In a moment, the girl's mind was made up. She snatched the food right from Akane's hand and gobbled it up hungrily. Akane smiled, her eyes filled with saddness. "So this is what we have been brought to? Living in filth..." She put the bread back and rummaged around in her bag, finding a new shirt. Akane new it was big for the girl, but she would take her chances with it anyway.

"For you." Akane's warm voice touched the girl's ears. The girl looked up from her meal. Her eyes sparkled at the shirt as she snatched that as well. The little girl threw it on and snuggled into the cotton material. Akane smiled again as she bid the young girl farwell. "Why? Why have we not been vanished from this earth like so many other cities? Why have we been spared, only to live in misery?" All around her, Akane could see children, elderly, and teens living on the streets. She clutched the bag close to her, now fearful of an attempted theft.

Not all of the city was like this, however. No. Some parts were pleasant. Some parts were untouched. But this... This was the forgotten part of Liore. The starving part of the once grand city. Akane could barely stand to walk through it, but she had to to reach the nearest food stand. She had to eat, no matter what happened.

"Liore apparentely used to be a very nice place. It was one of the few truly nice desert cities, and lasted for quite awhile."

Fletcher Tringham read out of the notebook he had in his hand. He was inside the wagon, the curtains pulled over the doors to prevent bright glares of sunlight from irritating him and his older brother. Russell kept his head down and listened to Fletcher read.

"Hey guess what brother, there was an alchemist here before!" He said, slowly getting excited. But his voice grew more somber as he continued. "Not exactly a nice alchemist. He pretended to be a prophet of god in order to swindle money from all of the people here..." Fletcher began to grow sad. These people were really taken advantage of. "His name was...Cornello" Fletcher read. He looked back up at his brother and said "I guess Cornello left a little while back...and now the city is...well" He pulled the curtain aside and unveiled the somewhat poor, not exactly in the prime of its time city. Fletcher's eyes clouded. He was no stranger to suffering. After all, their father was killed after leaving them, their mother had died soon after, and the two of them had spent a majority of their lives helping the wrong cause.

Russell sat across from his younger brother. He was fourteen, but was tall for his age. He sat with a long brown over coat on, and a bucket hat on his had. He listened still to what his brother was saying. They were here in Liore, sent by their friend Edward. Edward had told them to stay in Liore, being it so far out in the desert, it probably wouldn't be attacked by the golems and creatures. The wagon came to a stop and they paid their tax, and got outside. Fletcher shuffled his feet and asked "What now brother?"

"Well, we have to find a place to stay." Russel said smiling.

He had done something bad, very bad. The dead person in front of him would give it all but away that the certain personage was dead. Blood trailing from the male’s lip, would stain the uniform he had donned himself with. It was blue, a pretty blue but something was wrong. Hunched against the wall, terrified eyes stared at the dead man between azure optics. Form shaking repeatedly, a small voice could be heard coming from with in him. “Not an abomination…Not filth..I didn’t mean too..” Hands gripping kneecaps, a slight tug and they would be pulled to his chest.
It was simple, he had killed the man in a fit of defiance. The man looked as though he was dressed in military apparel, declaring that the other had committed countless murders. “Me and my kind..there’s more of me?” Raising a hand quietly he would stare at the blood running down slowly. It was disgusting, blood with its color and signature taste. He hated himself for even having something as necessary as such. He didn’t look like those normal people, who had perfect bodies. Even the old people were ‘normal’ as the man had put it. So, he had declared he wasn’t normal at all.
Letting the hand fall quietly, he would rise slowly dusting off black cargos that surprisingly blended with his eyes. They were strange eyes as well, having absolutely no whites simply a lightning blue. Eyes closed firmly, he would let that tingling sensation take over, the wings slowly easing from his back in one motion. That man had hit his psyche very hard, and he didn’t think a simple repair was going to be possible. As with the wings brought the other strange oddity, a blue hue slowly crawled up his legs and arms wrapping around his neck then face.
The people, they were different too, so why didn’t they attack and kill each other? Did they not know their own facial features? Eyes still wired shut; his hip would slam into a trash can sending garbage along with a very loud cat shooting along the alleyway. Eyes opening slowly would stoop ever so slightly to pick his mess up. Fingers tracing over the normal people’s filth as the trash was brought back together and dropped into the bin. Rising again, hands would be quite dirty now eyes quietly staring at them before hiding them deep within his pockets. His exact location would most likely be a back shot of some grimy business.
He was coming to the end of the alleyway now, craning his head slowly around he would take in the sights. Just a person here and there going about their lives, their normal lives that is. Normal, such a very awful word to keep using in a mental conversation with oneself, tending to stick rather obtrusively. Gritting teeth slowly, that tingling feeling would be suppressed heavily making a pain leak out of his chest in the process. The blue hue eased away, those wings would inch away as well leaving a few black feathers in the process. Finally easing his way out of the alleyway, those still nerve-racked eyes would stare at the normal people as he kept putting it as.

Akane was still walking through the streets. Her soft shoes making gentle taps on the broken concrete. Trash littered the streets, giving the city a disasterous appearance. She wish that there was something she could do for the city. People were starving, people were being murdered, slaughtered. She wanted to move, who wouldn't? "I dont have the money..." she thought sadly, glancing down at the eroded street before her. She felt a soft wind hit her face, yet the scent was none too pleasant. It was dirty and made her lungs burn. The acids and chemicals in the air were enough to kill someone. She coughed, covering her mouth as her breath struck her palm, splashing droplets of blood onto it. Akane wasn't in the greatest health. The air was making her extremely ill. She found her lungs bleeding more and more, causing her once delicate complextion of skin to pale. Why? Why had her parents settled in such a hell? It hurt her to think of her childhood, constantly playing in rat infested streets, unknowing of the dangers of guns, gang fights, and razor blades. She had been so innocent, so naive back then. She would give anything for her mind to be so pure again.

"Stop living in a fantasy, Akane. This world will always be a disaster, there isn't a thing you can do about it..." She could hear the rattling of trash cans. Some child probably digging around for a scrap of food. Akane jumped as she heard the yowl of a street cat. Akane blinked, feeling foolish for getting so startled over the sound of a cat fight. Yet... Akane couldn't help but feel eyes upon her. She clutched the paper bag close to her, wondering what was watching her so closely.

Akane tried to shrug it off. She continued to walk towards her house. It was only a block or two away. "I'll make it." she thought, still clutching the paper bag as tightly as she could. She felt her fingers shaking as the eyes became more violent. She could hear another set of footsteps behind her. Akane, thinking it was just her imagination, kept going. When the sound refused to fade, Akane got suspicious. She froze in her steps, afraid to continue going. She gasped, the footsteps were getting closer to her. Without thinking, Akane ran as fast as she could. She could hear the footsteps speed up as well.

Tears formed in Akane's eyes. She had to escape. She skidded to a stop as another figure appeared in front of her. She backed up, her body shaking. The other footsteps came closer and closer. She was trapped!

"Hey girly! What's in the bag!"

Akane should've known. She spun around to face a thug. His face was dirtied, and his hair was filthy and greasy. She backed away, her eyes widening in terror. She bumped into a body as she felt a hand over her mouth. She whimpered, trying to scream. The other man snatched her food out of her arms and looked through it. He chuckled, throwing the food on the ground, allowing it to become filthy and useless to her. "No! My food!!" She watched rats crawl after the spilled bread and butter. The tears slowly slid down her cheeks. That was all she had. She had spent most of her money on the food. Now what was she to do? Akane struggled in the man's arms as the other came towards her. The two discussed what they'd do to her. An assortment of disgusting thoughts made her tremble wildly. Akane pulled her face away from her captor's hand. She freed her jaw and let out a shrill scream. She knew no one would help her, no one ever did. She was done... Akane could still hope. She felt pain surge through her as a heavy fist caught the back of her head. She whimpered and her mouth was captured again. Tears swam in Akane's eyes. "Is this the end?" She thought as the men dragged her away from the street and towards a dark alley. Akane whimpered, wishing for a miracle.

A scream, something that usually occurs. Why would he feel the need to help? Slowly that tingling sensation came across his body again, coursing through his veins. That blue hue, blue hair and blue eyes all complimenting each other save for those raven wings. It was close, close enough to be noticed. The sound of a trash can, perhaps signifying exactly where the figure could be pin-pointed. He'd let the shadows slowly course through him, absorbing him into that black abyss he was oh so familar with. Mistake, thief, abomination words all too well slamming into his ears. The shadows would open to light again, three figures moving towards him while one was a female. Thugs, filthy men who had nothing better to do. Eyes falling on the girl's form would take in the large welt along her head. Eyes flaring a bright blue would watch the men stop, drop the girl and prepare to run. He heard the faint remark of 'monster'. If they wanted a monster, then fine. Raising his hand, he would only do a very slight use of shadow seeing as any large form gave him a splitting headache. Instantly the male's eyes would be cloaked in a blanket of shadow. It was enough to give them the feeling of being blind, if one could call that a head. He couldn't go head to head with them, he'd lose for sure. They were blind though, so that gave him an edge if he was quiet enough. Slowly inching towards the girl, his hands lifted her form ever so slightly in order to avoid even the slightest of noise. He made equally sure not to touch the welt, knowing that was going to cause this girl a great deal of discomfort. The abyss again, light then abyss. A series of exchanging checkpoints towards a desired goal, away from those two men. He had barely brought himself to come for aid, knowing full and well this woman probably wouldn't have done anything to help him. Raven wings flapping once, would stop slowly as the pain would be umberable. He had fully exerted himself, having used his ability to make it to the place he called 'home'. A rather ratty run-down home, that perhaps recalled distant memories for himself. The girl had been layed on the makeshift bed as well. While his form remained sprawled just along the grimey floor, wings lax against his form. Blue locks would remain just as such, mixed slightly with the gathered dirt. He didn't have enough will to leave, his chest heaving every so often. She will just run, that was more or less the better of it. As long as she didn't attack him. She didn't look too well. That would be the last thought before eyes would become partially closed, electric optics barely seen under blue lids.

(So everyone is aware, Fullmetal Alchemist takes place in early 20th century europe.)

Russel and fletcher had found an Inn nearby. It's view was considerably nice, and looked down at the wine fountain in Liore. Liore was a very bright place, but things had gotten bad since Cornello abandoned them. Fletcher was standing outside on the balcony, looking down at the city. Russel was inside, writing things down. Russel usually kept to himself, and wrote almost everything he saw. Fletcher was going to turn in, so he made his way inside. Inside, Russel was putting his coat on.

"What are you doing brother?" Fletcher asked the taller boy.
"You remember what Ed and Al had told us Fletch." Russel said, looking away.
"There are humonculi here. We are going to find him, and...." Russel trailed off.
"I'll go with you brother! It's too dangerous to go alone" Fletcher said, growing nervous.
"No fletcher, stay here tonight. I'll be back in the morning, and we'll go find this 'Rose' Al told us about." Russel said sternly. He eyed his younger brother and silently said "Please stay here."

Russel stepped outside into the cold, and held his coat tightly around his neck. "One thing about the Desert..." Russel began, "Hot in the day...freezing at night"

Akane was weeping now. She could feel her heart racing, as if savoring it's last time to beat. Her brain cried out in agony. She couldn't scream, couldn't move, couldn't fight back. She was dragged further and further away from the light. She closed her eyes as tightly as she could. She didn't want to see her last moments on this planet. She didn't want to see what they did to her. She could feel a knife. The cold blade. It came up, closer and closer to her throat. Akane felt the bitter edge sliding over her jugular. She froze, remaining as still as possible. This was it, this was the end.

Just as one of the man's hands was sliding up her shirt, it stopped. Akane was confused. She refused to open her eyes, not knowing what she'd find when she did. Suddenly, she felt herself falling. Falling from where? What was going on? She landed with an 'oof!' onto the pavement. Akane slowly opened her eyes, finding her limbs and jaw freed. She watched in confusion as the men in front of her began to act strangely. They were teetering and tottering, stumbling and screaming out. They acted as if they had been stabbed in the eyes. She was frozen with terror. What was going on? Was this the work of God? Or... something else?

Akane felt hands pick her up. She gasped in suprise and turned her head around to see a stranger. Her eyes widened in shock. She had to get away from them. Get away from all of them! Akane was too scared to move. Why were they after her? Was this man her friend or not? What was she going to do to escape? How was she going t... Akane shook her head. Her mind was getting fuzzy. She could no longer think. Her eyes fell, half-lidded, but then closed completely as she blacked out, and could remember nothing more.

***

Akane awoke with a start. She jumped nearly out of her skin as her eyes fell upon the unfamiliar surroundings. "Where am I?!" She cried out in her head. She tried to think back to what had happened. Two men... her food.... another stranger. It all made her brain ache and throb. She rubbed her head, her long brown hair falling over her eyes. Why had it happened to her of all people? She had done nothing wrong and yet she had been brought to some type of prison! She felt her limbs suddenly become like jelly as she thought of how close she had been to being killed... or worse. She found the material she sat on almost comforting as she laid back down.

It was then, that she saw the figure. Akane gasped and shot up again, only making her head dizzy and light. She leaned her back against the wall and tried to focus her eyes a bit. What was going on? Who was this guy? Akane's eyes focused on his. She may not trust him, but he did save her. He looked almost hurt. Despite her fears and suspicions, Akane slid off of the bed and approached the stranger, her hand held out to show him she meant no harm. She stumbled a bit, still not used to walking quite yet. She spoke in a soft, reassuring tone to him. "You're hurt. Please, let me help you." She cautiously kneeled down beside him and reached out her hands to inspect him. He did seem like he was wounded. Maybe Akane could pay him back this way. He had saved her after all.

He had saved someone, who he hadn't even met. Someone who's kind despised him. Threatened with death, and the likes. The cold floor leaked into his flesh almost viciosly. Reminding him simply of the fact that the person he had saved was most likely going to kill him. Wings drawn taunt across the floor would shift painfully finally moving to a more comfortable position. Eyes quietly opened to the motions occuring at this time. His whole frame felt like a bust of lead. His chest was barely capable of rising and falling but yet he still found the energy to try and move away from the figure that approached him. Form rising, he would let out an obvious scared motion scooting quickly towards the corner. The blue hue of his skin was slowly conforming back to a more normal tone, just as the wings remained somewhat wrapped around his frame. "I-I didn't meant too.." Hands basically over his eyes would remain shut, his sholder blade deep in the crack of the corner, unphased by the dirt and most likely spider webs littering the area. "Y-you can have whatever you want.." Pointing a quick finger towards a small bag, the brief glint of money perhaps could be seen within. He had indeed stolen money, but just enough to keep him somewhat surviving. His thin frame also showed just below his fringe of feathers the nervous breathing still echoing from his chest. He was extremely tired, his eyelids drooping every so often still trying to bury himself in the corner.

Akane was startled, almost insulted as the figure moved away from her hand. She was confused. Extremely confused. This creature, whatever he was, had just saved her. He had her contained in his hand, he could do whatever he felt like to her, yet... Akane didn't know why. He was as frightened as she was. She was confused, utterly lost. This city normally had thugs in it. Like the two men that had attacked her, for example. She hadn't known another frightened person in this city besides her. Akane's eyes softened, much like a mother's would if she was looking at her newborn baby. She felt the bitter cold floor beginning to take it's affect on her knees, which were barely covered by her mid-length skirt. It was an older style cloth. It wasn't anything fancy, and it was torn and dirtied in places.

Akane held out her hand, her eyes showing her kindness. "Do not be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you." She slowly stood up, but took cautious steps so as not to frighten him more. She kept her hands reached out, hoping he'd trust the touch of her fingers. She finally reached him in the corner and hushed the figure softly. A moment before, Akane would've been scared to death to help the creature, savior or not. But, she was warm and motherly at heart. She wouldn't turn down someone in need.

Akane very gently placed a hand on the man's cheek. Her voice came like the soft breeze of spring that swept away winter's harshness. "Don't be scared. I'm not going to harm you, I promise." She slowly pulled her hand away from him and looked him over a bit, studying his features. He was skinny, very skinny. She frowned, not wanting to know how he lived. It must've been terrible. She turned back to him and smiled again. "My name is Akane. Thank you for saving me." She looked around for her bag, wondering if he'd like something to eat. "Oh yeah, those men took it..." she thought sourly. She smiled at this stranger, not knowing if he'd attack or defend himself, but she would have to take the bet that he wouldn't hurt her, and that she could help him. "Only if God sends me an angel..." she thought, knowing people were not easy to trust in a town such as Liore.

She hadn't ran, nor attacked him. Well, just yet that is. The words that came out of her mouth almost fell on deaf ears already knowing full and well the whole ploy of 'kindness'. The soldier had did the same thing, lure him in then attempt to harm. That tender motion of placing her fingers on his cheek, would cause his eyes to stare up at her for a moment. At closer look, those blue eyes seemed on the brink of shattering completely out of any varied emotion. Eyes raising would only fall back down away from the eyes of the other. He didn't dare look straight into those warm eyes again. Eyes had a way of revealing one's true tendencies, but could easily be trained to hide them just the same. "I..didn't mean too...they were going to hurt..." The name as well fell on those ears, quietly mumbling as wings would flap once bumping into her just slightly. His breathing was calming, but instead of trying to escape he simply avoided looking at her. Knees pulled to his chest, arms would wrap around them quietly as his head rested against knee-caps. Blue locks remained slightly disarrayed, moving over his forearms as he remained quiet. It was most likely he was simply beyond terrified of the figure that wasn't running away or trying to harm him just yet.

The two men met in the darkness of one of Liore's alleys. Both had long black cloaks on, that hid their features. Things were suspicious in the desert city. the smaller one spoke first, and spoke in a hissing disgustingly pitched voice "Yes, a chimera." he spat nervously. The taller one looked down the alley and spoke next, "Well, where is it? What does it look like?"
"This chimera is different from most, it's a...a human transmutation."

"A Human transmutation?" The taller one asked surprised.

"I'm guessing it's one of the creatures from the attacks all over the state. The military can't exactly keep these kinds of monsters away from fights." He said in a lowly voice.

"Well that's the military" the taller one spoke. "The military is stupid and worthless, I'm only a part for the power my position gives."

"Well an accomplished alchemist like yourself, what do you plan on doing?" the smaller one asked.

"I'll capture the freakish chimera, and bring him to the boys upstairs, i'll be sure to get some sort of freakin promotion." The taller one said. The small one smiled as the man handed him a sack, most likely filled with gold coins. Then he explained where the chimera was located. The tall one, the alchemist, was on the move.

Akane had tears swelling up in her eyes. It appeared to her that her words were only making him more afraid. She would keep trying though. She wasn't about to give in. Akane smiled, that warm grin that stayed plastered on her face. "You can trust me if you want to, or hate me, I dont mind. It's your decision." She didn't move from his side, her eyes holding that glowing warmth. Akane reached out a hand again and touched his own. She was about to attempt to hold it, remembering a scene from her childhood.

(Cute little anime person holds up "Flashback" card and does funky dance)

Akane had been playing in the streets. She was chasing after a blowing piece of paper, finding the game fun at such a young age. She was cute back then. Her long brown hair merely short and in curls. She had huge, excited eyes as she chased after the soaring paper. Her tiny hands reached for the parcel, as her eyes widened in amusement. She caught it! Akane beamed with her catch, like a cat showing off it's newly captured mouse. She giggled and played with the paper some more. When the sun began to set it was then that Akane realized, she was far away from home. She began to grow scared, terrified of the darkness that stalked closer and closer to her meager form. She called out in the dark, crying for her mother or father. A hand was placed gingerly on her shoulder. She turned and saw a strange man. He took Akane's hand, just holding her hand made her feel warm and be able to trust him. In the end, the man had proved to be just that. Trust-worthy. He had led her back to her house, but when she had gone to thank him, the man was gone

(End flashback)

Akane snapped out of her memories as one of the wings struck her. She gasped in suprise and astonishment. She turly hadn't expected that. She shook her head, still refusing to give up. Akane was stubborn. She always had been. She regained her posture and reached her hand out for his again, hoping she was making the right motion so she wouldn't scare him.

Vanity silently walked down the empty streets of Setum, his hands sashed away in his pockets and his head as if dragged around by his body looked lifeless and bobbed around facing the floor. He had been having those strange dreams again...memories as the others said. He couldn't make much of those "memories" out but when he did see them...he remembered seeing a man, he was a happy man, but very sad...He remembered in his dreams this man crying...sometimes for hours...Vanity wondered why this man was crying.

All of a sudden, Vanity was launched back. He was falling, no...an object was pulling him back. Vanity felt a sharp pain then blanked out. As he regained his conciseness he looked at his surrounding...Lying down on the street, blood covered his face dripping down onto his eyes. He wiped the blood away and went "Ugh...". Vanity became weak, he could hardly move...he thought this was the end for him, he moved his hand slightly and burrowed it into his pocket. He pulled out a small tissue wrapping something inside. He took out a small chunk of red stone out of the tissue and slowly placed it into his mouth as everything in his eyes seemed to be darkening.

Vanity swallowed the red stone and suddenly his breathing went shallow, he didn't think he would make it. A hand appeared in front of him and a kind face above...the man holding his hand out wore a trench coat, a small hat and an umbrella in his other hand.. He listened faintly as the man said "Are you..ok?". Vanity couldn't do anything...his body wouldn't move...his body was failing...Vanity could here Sirens, and again that crying...the crying of that mysterious man in his dreams as he blanked out...

Yet again the figure refused to leave altogether. What exactly was she after? His posessions were few to none, other then the possibility perhaps she wanted his life? The voice ringing out quietly would cause his head to slightly rise. That was quite the odd statement, one he had not heard at all. Eyes quietly rising would take in her gaze suddenly getting a vicious flashback as well. More or less that or either a wishful memory placed on him? A road, dirt, sorrounded by large trees quietly shadowing the path. Then the voice, a woman just beyond the road's end calling his name. He couldn't make it out at all, feet would pound along the dirt path towards the figure. It was a beatiful figure, warm, welcoming and painfully familar. Arms spread wide, the figure would welcome him ever so firmly, taking hold of his hand. Leading him the rest of the way, towards home. It was his mother, almost positive it was here, thoughts practicing the assumption. Had he always had blue hair? It was a very odd hair color at that as well. Perhaps he did, perhaps not.
The memory would suddenly crash, nothing-ness would be there instead. The mother's figure pulling away from his hands, fingertips finally touching before he was tugged into this nothing. An abyss, the cry of a raven as well. His wing had almost out of instinct had struck her, feeling now she had most assuredly had gone. That hand again pressed against his would cause his vision quietly to return, staring at her hand quietly. His hand opening slowly, would welcome the other one, as eyes remained locked with the floor.

Jack Walked the streets of Liore. A dark look was in his eyes, and the transmutation circle tatooed on his forehead was cold. He raised his head to see several military soldiers run around the corner of a building to find him. One yelled "Hey, there he is! Get him!" Jack had been running from the military after he had frozen a soldier who had aggrivated him to death, and now, he had to face them at every turn. Jack jumped back, and the transmutation circle on his forehead glowed red. The group of soldiers yelled in pain, and their skin started to melt. Jack turned away, and ran into an ally.

Vanity's eyes opened slowly, he could hardly see..his vision was blurred. As his vision cleared Vanity remembered his dream...He thrusted forword and screamed "Ah...Ugh". In his head quick visions of a man and a tragedy happening to him, a death and a Human Transmutation. He recognized this man..It was him, memories of his former body.

Vanity took deep and raspy breathes. His hands showed stress marks as on his forehead. He took a look at his surroundings, an Ambulence...heading to a nearby hospital. He looked over to the side and saw a man... half awake. When Vanity took a glance at him those sharp images speared in his head. Vanity yelled, the man next to him suddenly awoke and ran upto Vanity's strecher. "Johenn.....Johenn....Are you OK?!" he put his hands on Vanity's stretcher and looked at Vanity. Vanity screamed "Why am I here....where am I going?!" he sat up and felt a sharp pain on his chest. The man to his side said "Youve been in a car crash, My car hit you....I'm so sorry" he burst into tears. "Joheen its been so long, don't you remember...it's me, Daren!"

The words Daren and Joheen suddenly clicked in his head, he remembered. Daren was a friend of his former body (Johen) and he had left for a while to work, he left before the tragedy...he wasn't there when Johen had died. Vanity suddenly stood up and looked at Daren "I am no longer Johen, I am not who you think I am." Vanity looked at his Homoncolous mark on his leg and said "I am a Sin." Daren was too shocked to speak, Vanity walked up to the driver of the ambulence and hit him on the shoulder. The driver looked up into Vanity's eyes and the drivers eyes went blank. The driver stopped the ambulence and Vanity jumped out through the back. Daren yelled "Johen...WAIT!", the ambulence was driving away and Daren was sitting in the back as he yelled in tears.

Vanity slowly ran down the city streets, he put on his sun glasses as the rain poured down in the city. He looked at his homoncolous seal and thought to himself as he walked, he remembered his words "Why am I here....where am I going.." and glanced away from his seal. His fists tensed up as he approached his old appartment.

Akane smiled as she slipped her hand into the stranger's. She held it gently in her own and ran her finger over his knuckle gently. So this was the beast? Why was the government after them? They were such shy creatures? She wouldn't allow anything bad to happen to him. Something told her that she had to protect him. "Maybe I can be his friend..." She thought. She smiled warmly, that care-worn grin never fading from her face.

She slowly looked at the wound. "I... I want to help." Her voice was soft as she reached her hand towards the wound. She touched it with her gentle fingers, prodding at the wound to find any major weakness in it. She sighed, it was bleeding, as her crimson colored fingertips revealed. She wiped the blood on the floor and looked at her shirt. It was torn enough, she could spare some more cloth. Akane took a piece from the sleeve of her blouse and tore it. She smiled a bit and applied the cloth to his wound. "This might hurt. I'm sorry if I do hurt you." She dabbed the blood gently, being sure not to get any dirt into the wound. "I need water to clean it..." Akane thought sourly. She had no water, there hadn't been any pure water for years in Liore.

Akane placed the blood soaken cloth beside her and took a long strip of leather from her skirt. She applied some of it to his wound, while she wrapped the longer piece around his waist. Akane's skilled and gentle fingers, nimbly tied the bandage together so it'd stay put on his skinny figure. She sat back, admiring her work for a moment. "There! Now you wont get sick." She smiled, her long brown hair falling over her shoulder. She stretched a bit, and opened her eyes. She felt sick for some reason. Maybe it was because of the sight or smell of blood, but she felt... bleh. She shook her head, clearing up her thoughts. She couldn't become ill now. The poor creature needed her help. "Hey, if I go out to get food, promise you wont leave?" She held out her hand, lifting up her pinky finger. "you have to pinky swear." She smiled, her eyes giving off a warming glow.
