Squall Leonhart (please log in to view the image) (please log in to view the image)
Son to Laguna and Raine Loire. Brother to Ellone. Commanding officer of Balamb Garden. He is 17 years old and at the beginning of the game is a loner that separates himself from others because he considered them to be a liability. Of course this grudually changes as the story unfolds, but lets get on with the cool stuff.
This is Squall's weapon:
The Gunblade
(please log in to view the image)
The gunblade is a sword using components of a revolver to send vibrations through the blade when triggered.
Becoming a Gunblade specialist is a difficult task and only 2 specialists exist at the time of the game: Squall and his rival Seifer Almasy.
FFVIII's intro: Squall vs Seifer "sparring"
The shape of the hilt in Squall's gunblade determines how he uses the weapon. Notice how he uses 2 hands that add more force to his strikes as he begins to overwhelm Seifer--whose weapon is designed for faster strikes with less damage. Seifer cheats by blasting Squall with a fireball, leaving him defenseless and slashing him while he is underground. An enraged Squall counters with a similar strike.
Awesome movie, ne?

Squall fights Ifrit before he can junction the Guardian Force. This is a task requied for him to pass the SeeD exam. Quistis Trepe is only allowed to give Squall support
note: I know the quality sucks but I could not find anything better. Still works anyway.

The huge robot chasing after them does not show signs of stopping its rampage. Squall is the last one to escape the robot and dollet with dramatic points as he jumps to the safety of the SeeD vessel. Quistis Trepe shoots the robot to submission with the huge turret on it.
Squall, Zell and Selphie pass the exam. Seifer fails yet again.

Rinoa Heartilly asks Squall for a dance during the party thrown by Balamb to celebrate those SeeD recruits that had just passed the exam. As usual Squall's anti-social behavior leads him to refuse her but Rinoa, not taking no for an answer, grabs his hand and drags him to the dance floor.
As part of his mission Squall is entrusted with the task of jumping from train wagon to wagon to detash and replace them with the Timber Owl's(Rinoa's rebel group) version.
However it was all a trap and Squall and co. were forced to defeat the monster that was a decoy.
After this Rinoa asks Squall to become her bodyguard since he was still under contract by her. A hesitant Squall had no other choice but to agree.
Oh yeah I had forgotten Headmaster Cid(Balamb Garden's director) had assigned Squall as squad leader.

Sometime later in the game Squall and his squad are ordered to assassinate Sorceress Edea. Rinoa is tagging along by this time. She has put her plans on hold. Squall heads to Galbadia Garden to meet with Irvine Kinnes. The sniper that will eliminate the evil witch. After everything is prepared and Irvine has his perfect shot he hesitates...and cannot take the shot. He tells Squall he always freezes when nervous and at a time like this--Irvine was bullshitting, but I'm not going to reveal the reason why--Squall then comforts Irvine and convinces him to go on. Irvine takes the shot, and Edea's shield stops the bullet from hitting her. Squall notes to irvine that it was a perfect shot. Then he goes on to do his part and finish Edea off.
Plan to kill Edea part 3:
Seifer has become Sorceress Edea's knight. Squall faces off against his rival and defeats him. Then just before Squall was about to face off against Edea by his lonesome Rinoa & Irvine arrive to lend him a hand. The fight is then ended when Edea pierces Squall through his chest with a huge pillar of Ice.

After their attempt to kill Edea fails Squall & co. are taken to a prison. Squall's cell is then moved. Seifer then tortures Squall for information. Good ole tough guy Squall passes out before he gives Seifer any.
Squall is rescued by the moombas because they believe he is Laguna. In any case Squall goes out of his way to save Zell Dincht. Mr. Dincht is so thankful and glad to see Squall he hugs Squall and does not let go. Our hero has no choice but to poke Zell with the hilt of the Gunblade in the head.
Sometime later Squall and Seifer have another rematch. However this is a different fight since both of them are commanding Balamb and Galbadia respectively. Squall's shows impressive tactical skills as he manages to not only hold off Seifer's attack, but he manages to win. Even going as far as ramming Balamb Garden itself against Galbadia. Squall also rescues Rinoa who is hanging by hand and is about to fall into the abyss. Squall fights in the air against a Galbadian soldier before he rescues Rinoa. Then Squall fights Seifer yet again and the SeeD are finally able to defeat Edea.

Ok its time for you guys to Respect Lion Heart Squall's ultimate desperation(limit break) move. If you thought Omnislash was over the top and flashy...Lion Heart will make you think twice while you cream your pants. The ammount of damage Squall does with this even if you don't add the damage dealt by Renzokuken is out of this world.
Enjoy
Lion Heart
Now on to Squall's remaining desperation moves:
Blasting Zone
Fated Circle

After the events that took place during the Balamb vs Galbadia war Rinoa is left comatose. A desperate Squall decides to carry Rinoa by his lonesome to Esthar(the most technological advanced country) in FFVIII. Needless to say he walks a long road to his destiny.
Long ass video, I know, but its cool. Some Laguna & Kiros action for those who have missed them.
In space Squall puts on a suit and goes out of his way to rescue Rinoa. Yep. The guy has come a long way from the lonewolf he used to be. Thank god he only considered others to be a liability. Heh. We also find out Rinoa has inherited Sorceress Edea's power.
Oh yeah I almost forgot...Squall and Rinoa bump into Ragnarok. A spaceship infested with aliens. Both of them rid the ship of the infection and use it to return to their planet. When they return word has spread that Rinoa is a sorceress. Therefor the Esthar forces take her captive and plan to freeze her.
After some thinking Squall decides to rescue Rinoa from them. He has become her knight.
I think I'm going to take a break. Getting obsessed with this thread. LoL. Dunno why...I'm just loving it. Anyways the break is needed before I lose my sanity. What do you guys think of it?
