best man for the job (hal jordan, thor, superman, and silver surfer)
in the following scenarios, who do you think is the best suited to carry out the task with the most success?
(assume they are the only hero on the planet.)
and place them in order of success like so:
a)
b)
c)
d)
-------------------------
1) a group of three texas sized asteroids (separated from one big one so they are in close proximity)are headed towards earth and will touch down in 2 hours.
2) an entity composed of energy and bad intent causes all the prisons in the world to simultaneously open their doors and cells, obviously it won't take long for the prisoners to make a move.
3) a sixth host of celestials arrives and deem the earth's destruction long overdue.
4) imperiex returns from destruction on his lonesome, but he is ready to restart his original plan.
5) mordru is in manhattan
6) mephisto captures the soul of their loved one, and they have to get it back.
if you have an additional scenario, feel free to post it.

Re: best man for the job (hal jordan, thor, superman, and silver surfer)
a) Green Lantern
b) Thor
c) Superman
d) Silver Surfer.
Honestly, any of the four could do a decent job, so the ratings are swappable.
a) Superman
b) Silver Surfer
c) Green Lantern
d) Thor
no idea.
a) Superman. Seriously. Nothing is going to piss off (and distract) Imperiex more than seeing the guy who got rid of him the last time again. Massive tactical boost.
b) Thor
c) Silver Surfer
d) Green Lantern

Just a comment on some of the choices about Mephisto and all the villains being freed.
Thor already succeeded in the Mephisto scenario. He even had to fight the souls of all those he loved, along with all the legions in hell/every famous "evil" person in history. He triumphed here and proceeded to beat Mephisto, without harming his loved ones.
In Superman's last bout with Manchester Black, he basically has to face all of his low herald and down opponents, and beats all of them. Not only does he beat them, he's depowered half the time and barely an casualties.
The comics have already decided who would be the best in these two scenarios, since Thor and Superman both have pretty much perfect scores.
the thor incident i was unaware of, i do know of the time he went into hel to confront hela though.
and the manchester black arc is different since the entire world's populace of criminals are out; think of all those hardened lifers with another chance of freedom, serial rapists, child predators, terrorists, etc. all free around the world just itching to make up for lost time. these guys don't have a vendetta against superman, they want everyone else.
think what would happen if arkham (dc) and the vault (marvel) just opened up one day.
