Ali G and Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen is to play Freddie Mercury in a film about Queen, the rock band's guitarist Brian May has confirmed to the BBC. "We have Sacha Baron Cohen, which will probably be a shock to a lot of people, but he's been talking with us for a long time," May told the HARDtalk show.

Freddie is one of those singers that appears once in a blue moon. Queen is one of those bands that produced decent record after record and Freddie has a lot to do with that.
Freddie is probably the best singer period. Very few can match his vocal range as well as the strength of his voice. Queen's performance during Live AID is often regarded as the greatest performance in rock-n-roll history because of Freddie's voice and how it can pretty much control the audience. He's also clearly one of the top rated showmen ever as well as one of the best songwriters.
