When the special features have hardly anything to do about the movies story or characters.
I am watching the special features about the making of the first transformers. I know how there were tons of explosions and stunts, the actors going through military training, and how Michael Bay is an overly demanding ass hole on set, and how they got a deal from GM to make the film more cheaply along with How hasbro was going to make there toys.
Anything of substance about trying create a world, and characters that revolve around a grander story? No, not all.
It totally did not surprise me that second film is considered to be total garbage, and nobody gives an F about the third

Amen...! If theres gonna be any decent business on the third film, it'll be creditable to the same sources as before; The trading on beloved names (and then raping the shit out them in the actual movie.)
And the concept and sight transforming robots (which is always the animator's credit).
Even if the last one is a even good...? Too little too late after the 1st two....
A passionate stance on something that's dear to us or liked by many is a luxury, hollywood's made that clear. If you expect greatness from many things, we're gonna get depressed. The thing is though, it's Bay, we know what we're getting ourselves into.
Because the marketing group are aware that the films failed to capture the magic of the original vision.
And the only thing people think about when the look back on BayFormers is Megan Fox's abs.
