So for something new, let's do a civilization vs civilization battle.
The NR/GFFA has magically recovered from the devastation of the YV war. But then, a wormhole opens up between the outer rim of the galaxy and that of the galaxy at the height of the Empire, and all out war breaks out as the Empire invades the former Rebels.
Keep them Star Wars related.
Matches between non-SW characters will be closed. Both characters must be from Star Wars.
Just post battles here.
This is a "versus" forum. A forum dedicated to Star Wars character matches. Any thread about anything but a match, will get closed.
Maximum number of contenders
Let's keep it maximum 3 versus 3, with the exception of teams. More than 2 characters in a match is hard to discuss, threads like that often dissappear in 2 days, imagine 8 or 10 characters involved...
(Now, in some cases, an exception or two might be made with some threads. It's usually a judgement call on the moderator's part. But, of course, if a thread has like 25+ characters, it WILL be closed. NO exceptions)

The Empire is more militarized and prepared for a war, but the GA has more advanced warships/fighters, and a Jedi order. With force users strong enough to take on Palpatine and Vader, no less. They also don't have to worry about losing control of systems if they pull forces away like the Empire does.
I think it might look like the Empire has an advantage at first, but then things'll stalemate, and then the GFFA will likely push back as they get more and more on war footing. Unless Palps comes up with something clever, they should win in the end.
The Galactic Empire fielded the largest and most powerful military force in galactic history. The GA's technology is more advanced in certain areas, but I'm not sure they have the numbers or overall muscle to defeat the Empire in a protracted war.
I'm not certain that the presence of approximately one hundred Jedi will mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Ten thousand Jedi Knights were insufficient to steamroll the Confederacy; powerful Jedi can and will tip the scales in certain battles, but the Empire fields a considerably vast arsenal of troops: from the trillions of army soldiers to the stormtroopers to mechanized Purge troopers designed to hunt down Jedi. Palpatine has all sorts of specialized monstrosities to hurl at the Jedi. I don't see them handing the GA a victory.
Takai, the rules quite clearly state that army v army fights are an exception.
I have seen people claim that the Empire has superior numbers and industry to the GA, but is there any basis for that? Most cite the quote that the Empire would have crushed the YV, but that was in comparison to a NR that was at the time heavily demilitarized and, worst of all, very incompetent.
Jedi don't die in the Clone Wars?
Between the Dark Knight, Harry Potter, and this, I'm beginning to wonder if RJ hasn't hacked your account....
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: Err... their guns weren't pointed at the backs of the Jedi when Anakin manhandled the Temple.
The Confederacy endured attacks by ten thousand Jedi and the Republic's forces. A military force more powerful than either the CIS or the Republic, equipped with a plethora of highly trained and specialized troops dedicated to hunting down and killing Jedi, should be enough to endure.
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: By the by, there are one hundred Jedi in Luke's order.
