I. Character Facts

This section will cover the information behind the man himself rather than his fighting capabilities. Which will include a few interesting things.

This is one of the main things of Jesus's character. Although not widely publicized by him in the comics. Jesus is gay.

Some people didn't like this. Particularly the guy who writes the letter to Kirkman in the Letter Hacks section.

Jesus's martial arts skill has been a question to many people. And also lead people to give ideas for his origin. Such as was he in the army etc. We then find out he was taught these martial arts skills by his father.

II. Reaction Speed

All relevant feats related to reaction speed will be posted here.


Jesus catches a spear thrown at him from point blank range. He evades it very well considering the spear is aiming right for his abdomen but he can move his entire body out of the way and then catch the spear.

Now this feat is very impressive. Jesus manages to spot a grenade flying over the fence. He is able to run and jump far enough to grab it and then throw it back on top of the Saviours who threw it all in the time limit of it going off.

This might seem impressive but when you realize how quick a grenade can explode it becomes even more impressive. Grenades tend to have a time limit of 4-5.5 seconds till explosion. So in the time it took for it to go over the wall Jesus would have had a very short amount of time in which to throw it back.

III. Agility

This section will be used to display examples of Jesus's agility that are separate from his fights. Since he shows these skills in fights too.

Here Jesus vaults over the fence in a unique way. Doing a front flip and landing perfectly on the floor.

In this scan Jesus is able to vault over all the people in his way. Going above the heads of the people surrounding him.

During a battle Jesus is able to do a very impressive leap backwards off of his horse, land and then behead a walker. All in one fell swoop.

IV. Miscellaneous (Stealth/Combat Strength/Escapism/Reputation)

This section will cover feats that I didn't think could be placed into their own category.

Stealth

Jesus can sneak into Rick's house without alerting him.

This isn't as impressive since Heath lets him in and Rick had left his door open but it still required Jesus to make no noise.

On this occasion Jesus sneaks into Maggie's bedroom without them noticing.

Jesus manages to sneak into the Hilltop without anyone knowing. Including Kal and within his role as head of security should know all of the entrances and exits. Which we find out when he questions Jesus on how he got in and Jesus says “I'll never tell you”.

Combat Strength

When Jesus encounters a Whisperer he is able to break his leg with one kick.

Rick says to Jesus that he is keeping him tied up because he has “heard what you can do on the loose”.

Escapist

This will be a longer section as it will be going into detail on one feat.
When we first meet Jesus quite soon he is incapacitated by Rick and is tied up. As is shown in these 2 scans.

Then as they are on their way to the Hilltop Jesus explains he needs to go to the toilet. And reveals that he could've set himself free at any time. Which he proves to Rick by showing the undone rope around his wrists right in front of him. His reasoning behind not revealing this was as explained he was testing Rick and his group.

Then finally as they are about to walk up the hill towards the Hilltop Jesus adds to the previous point when Rick is still unsure of Jesus's motives by saying that he let Rick tie him up thereby risking his life. And that if he truly had any ill will towards them. He could have attacked them in the van at night while they were sleeping.

V. Fights

Jesus vs Abraham and Michonne

It's worth mentioning in this fight but that Jesus had no intentions to kill Abraham or Michonne. He as he mentioned wanted to talk with them. He manages to take them on easily. He could have killed either of them during the fight but chose not to. He then embarrasses Abraham even more at the end.

And this one scan shows an example of the accuracy Abraham has when he uses his assault rifle. He takes out 2 who were in front of Michonne without hitting her.

Now onto Michonne. In this set of scans she is able to take out a group of Whisperers at close range. While not initially as impressive since she attacked them from behind at first but it definitely requires skill to accomplish.

Jesus vs Walkers #1

In this scene Jesus has his arms tied behind his back but he is still able to knock down multiple walkers with ease , leaving the others to “brain them”. Though I think given his skill he could have killed a few himself.

In this scene Jesus defeats some walkers while he is tracking Dwight. One particular thing I like about this scene as well is how quick Jesus is to react to the zombie that is right behind him on the highway.

VI. Fights Part 2

Jesus vs Negan + Saviour Soldiers

This is probably one of Jesus's most impressive fights. He manages to move fast enough to get clear hits on 3 Saviour men on open ground. While also avoiding the gunfire, he then takes it one step further. Jesus takes on Negan and beats him with ease. Now this is Negan we are talking about. Not just any old character. And if he wanted to he could have killed him. But he hadn't set out to do that as he says himself.

What makes the above fight even more impressive is that Negan is someone when holding Lucille is capable of taking down a veritable giant in Beta. Who is by far the tallest character in the comic at over 7 feet and is likely the strongest. When Negan and Beta engage in battle Negan makes short work of him.

And Jesus treated Negan as if he were just a normal Saviour.

Jesus vs large Whisperer Group + Walkers

This is definitely up there with the Negan fight. Jesus shows his most impressive display of skill to date. Defeating multiple Whisperers and killing a load of walkers. All in a really small “arena” so to speak.

Something additional to add to this is that this group of Whisperers included Lydia. Who was capable of taking on multiple Whisperers by herself. Although it's perhaps worth mentioning she didn't actually challenge Jesus till the very end which ended up with her getting a knife lodged in her shoulder.

Jesus vs Saviour Soldiers

In this instance Jesus engages these Saviours in combat. (Dwight is present but not in the fight). Manages to deal with them really easily but is then knocked on the back of the head. Although later on as he is in the Saviour vehicle he slips away on the car having found the location of the Sanctuary. Leaving the possibility that he intended to be taken there (in a certain way).

P.S: As a side-note I've always thought it was a impressive feat how Jesus took out that large Saviour with just one eye.
