For search optimization, should images use the ALT attribute?

For search optimization, should images use the ALT attribute?

For an image, the MOST IMPORTANT factors are a) ALT attribute that has keywords in it, b) text around it, the page itself to be KEYWORD HEAVY and SEO-friendly. It's nice if the image itself is the keyword, but not necessarily required. It definitely helps and is good for SEO. So do that, if possible.

As for your second question, generally I believe one POWERFUL focused website is better than many SPLINTERED weak websites. But that is a great question and it can vary. Where splitting does really matter is on localization. If you have two offices, one in Austin and one in Dallas, you are better off with TWO websites with TWO Google+ Local accounts than one master account.
