It would have been interesting. I wonder if it's supposed to be set in an alternate timeline where the Klingon-Federation War intensified and the Federation made an alliance with the Cardassian Union to combat the Klingons and Maquis. That's the only way I can see it working, unless it would have been a completely different story.
