I'm curious. Does this Sun God have an ability equal or similar to Superman's sunamp/dip? Are those sun shots in there just to drive the point home that he is Sun God?
Carver is pretty cool. People get on his case but he don't pay them no mind. I guess he realizes we're discussing COMIC BOOK CHARACTERS and he doesn't lose his cool.
As to the thread, Cheap Superman Knockoff A beats Cheap Superman Knockoff B.

What's this about Superman that every writer wants to make his own Superman story? I mean just how many Superman clones are out there?
Where did Hickman stated that this was his JLA?
Gender: Male Location: The Fortress of Solitude in Venus
I read somewhere that he wanted to made a comic with the JLA, since this is obviously not feasible while working with Marvel, He created his own version of the JLA, I think it was stated on and interview on previous or in CBR, though I doubt he used JLA for obvious reasons. But it was implied IIRC. Poor wording on my part saying that "it was stated" because He can't
But this are openly rip off's of the JLA.

IIRC It was CBR I remember reading it too. While he didn't come out and say this was his JL, he all but said it. As for te first part of your question heres a partial list since Marvel seems to create a New SM analogue every 5 yrs.
Hyperion-there's too many to list suffice to say, you have both good and evil versions.
Gladiator
Count Nefaria
Aquarian
Sentry
Blue Marvel
Sun God
Plus another SM clone that worked in the Daily Bugle can't think of his name right now. There's at least another 4 or 5 more if I had a copy of the Marvel handbook I could list but I can't recall their names right now.
