A man with an awesome name in an awesome band, Lemmy Kilmister, bassist and vocalist of the hard rock/heavy metal band Motorhead died in his home on the 28th of December, two days after being diagnosed with the cancer that killed him.
I saw Mötorhead in 2002 at the Woodlands Pavillion along with Dio and Iron Maiden. One of the greatest concerts I've ever been to in my life. Lemmy showed love for Joey, Dee Dee, and Johnny Ramone by saying "I just hope that they can hear this" and played RAMONES so loudly that my ears were ringing for a few days after.
Good times and good music.
"We are not children of celestial f*ckin' light, walkin' arm-in-arm into the Age of Aquarius. We are wankers who
wreck the planet an' piss on each other, 'til half the world's starvin' an' the other half's busy findin'
new ways to keep from noticin' it. That's the f*ckin' limit've our potential, believe me."
I SEE THE LINE IN THE SAND
TIME TO FIND OUT WHO I AM
LOOKIN BACK TO SEE WHERE I STAND
"The Daemon lied with every breath. It could not help itself but to deceive and dismay, to riddle and ruin. The more we conversed, the closer I drew to one singularly ineluctable fact: I would gain no wisdom here."
