Hello to everyone reading this, I welcome you to the... (please log in to view the image)
As always I will be categorising the thread into different sections as permitting. These sections will be.
I. Origin II. Strength III. Heat Vision IV. Fights
I will begin by showing a small bio that gives a description of the Crime Syndicate of America, the name of Ultraman's version of the JLA.

Scans From The Multiversity Guidebook
I. Origin
Now to begin with the origin of Ultraman. His life begins much like Kal-El's did. Except from that in his case Ultraman (AKA Kal-Il) is powered by Kryptonite and weakened by sunlight. And he is set on a mission by his father Jor-Il to become the strongest there is, so he can kill the monster that destroyed their Krypton (later discovered to be Mobius/Anti Monitor). A young Ultraman crashes on another Earth and encounters another Martha and Jonathan Kent. They discover the crashed pod and a baby Ultraman sees them as well. He proceeds to blow Jonnathan Kent's arm off with his Heat Vision then suddenly declares "You two, you will be my parents now".
Ultraman then monologues that this was his first memory. And continues by saying that the Kent's didn't last much longer. By the time he had turned 7 they tried to escape their farm so a 7 year old Ultraman kills the Kent's and then burns the farm to the ground.
This section will feature all of Ultraman's Strength specific feats.
Ultraman flies to the Moon and then proceeds to push it directly into the path of the Sun. Causing earthquakes and tidal waves to erupt on the Earth in the process
(although his actual reason for doing this was to prevent himself from being weakened by the Sun)
Not as impressive a feat but it helps to give you a good idea of how the Kryptonite gives Ultraman his full power, besides from this Ultraman punches through a glass wall and then rips open a vault that is protecting a large chunk of Kryptonite that Lex Luthor had until now safely under lock and key.
This section will feature all of the fights that Ultraman took part in.
Ultraman vs Black Adam
Ultraman engages Black Adam in battle and beats him with ease. He even takes a blast from Black Adam saying "SHAZAM" like nothing. He then proceeds to humiliate Black Adam by crushing his jaw with one hand.
Ultraman, Sinestro, Black Adam, Lex Luthor, Bizarro, Deathstroke and Black Manta vs Alexander Luthor
This is quite a complicated fight here because there is multiple sides to it. At one point Ultraman begins to fight Sinestro and Black Adam, and then Alexander Luthor appears and everyone mentioned starts attacking him. And then Ultraman begins to attack Lex Luthor. Ultraman is knocked unconscious at one point during the fight but he himself says "I need to be stronger... I need Kryptonite..." Which implies that Ultraman wasn't at 100% during this battle.
Ultraman & God of Strength Superman vs Mobius (and later on God of Strength Superman)
This fight probably presents Ultraman's highest showing to date. Once he is given a piece of Kryptonite to eat he is restored to full working order and is ready to take on Mobius with Superman. They both proceed to attack Mobius but before Superman can land a second hit in, Ultraman casually backhands him a long distance away and then proceeds to attack Mobius multiple times and is seen to be visibly causing him pain. Although given Mobius's stature he is able to put down Ultraman in the end but the fact Ultraman can do such a thing as to hurt Mobius to some degree shows an extreme level of power.
Question: Why was Ultraman batting away an amped Superman impressive? He's amped, but he's still a dude who has his usual mass. Was Superman KO'd for a long time?

Impressive for like you mentioned Superman was amped. His mass hasn't changed as far as I'm aware but again being amped also comes with the ability to have more staying power. Say for example 2 people who are clones of eachother. Except from one of them now has increased muscle strength, durability, speed what have you.
He may not gain mass but due to his increased abilities he is now able to resist brute force even more.
And another point, Ultraman treated him like dirt. I don't know if you've seen the Death Seed Sentry vs Thor fight but it looks a lot like that. Sentry in that fight didn't want Thor dead so was playing around with him by casually knocking him around like a red headed stepchild.
It's about the difference of power that is shown just from what happens. If Superman was that closer to Ultraman he could've seen the hit coming, returned from being hit (if he was that durable to resist it) and then retaliate against Ultraman) but he didn't.
Overall that is why I would say it was impressive.
So strength+durability determine inertia in comics? That makes sense. Because normally, I'd have thought dudes this strong would knock each other across blocks or into the upper atmosphere with every punch.
I don't really think there was a massive difference in power tbh. Both were shown drawing blood from that dude Mobius, and imo, it looked Ultraman sucker-punched Superman.
Ultraman being a peer to an amped Superman is pretty awesome though.

You can see how KC Superman just stands there and withstands a punch from Hercules like it's nothing. Now would you suggest KC Superman ways 1000's of tons? Because that would be the only other explanation for why he didn't budge when punched. You could say a forcefield but of course Superman doesn't deploy them tactic.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree here. I believe there is a difference shown in the scans of Ultraman and God of Strength Superman attacking Mobius.
The point about Superman drawing blood is a point I will also address. Him being amped to the teeth is what even allows him to stand a chance to do that in the first place and then as shown Ultraman deals with him as if he is naught but a child

Yeah, definitely looks like it is the case in comic books.
It shouldn't be the case in real life though. Inertia's only tied to gravitational mass when not moving afaik. If Hulk/Superman punched each other in our universe, they'd go flying every time. Even though they're probably durable enough to not be gibbed, they aren't massive enough to keep still.
Also, aren't sucker-punches more effective in comics?
Fair enough. This is a respect thread.
Do the comics show how great Superman's amp was?
