Favorite over the top performances

What are some of your favorite examples of an actor going 110% during a scene of emotional expression or physicality? Did the actor improvise the scene like Leonardo DiCaprio did in Django Unchained (when he cut his hand), or is the actor renowned for going over the top in roles?

Agreed to all, Norman Stanfield in The Professional might be my favorite movie villain of all-time.

Oldman in Bram Stoker's Dracula and Air Force One when he flips out as well.

The 90's were the era of the Gary Oldman villain.

Raul Julia throughout Street Fighter: The Movie.

The Addams Family movies as well he hammed it up pretty well, but went full bore chewing scenery for his swan song.

I'm not kidding. Even that scene from "Rookie of the Year" where he is on a plane with the kid and lets him taste his salisbury steak, that is solid gold.

I guarantee you Busey showed up on set with a salisbury steak tv dinner and the crew just ran with it. Then his kid went on to eye f*ck the shit out of me in Starship Troopers.

Haha, I don't even remember him being in Rookie of the Year. I was just a kid when I saw that.

Plus there is this from Battlefield Earth:

His galaxy conquering training obviously involved a lot of gesturing.

Nicolas Cage is never over-the-top. He's always just right for the role provided.

Please save greatness like that for The Nicolas Cage Thread.
