When I first watched the gameplay footage of it, I almost instantly noticed that Frank's VA isn't TJ Rotolo.
Also, why the hell did they add an exo-suit?
I bet they got rid of the Time limit for the few people who complained about it, Jumping into the game expecting it to be a open world game with lots of freedom.
And it doesn't work with a larger open world. It worked pretty well within the confines of first two games but for a large open world, it's constraining.
Also, people's gameplays habits are different than 10 years ago. It's hard to expect players to spend hours and hours redoing the same stuff in order to explore the open world. Removing it makes total sense to me.
Removal of psychopaths, I totally understand frustration. To me, that's the draw of a Dead Rising game.

Psychopaths were what made for fun, random boss encounters with each having their own soundtrack to boot. Replacing that with random groups of human fodder is shameful.

The second Dead Rising was more forgiving than the first.
However, I don't hate it because of the difficulty. I hated it because I had re-do the same thing over and over to finish it because it was designed that way.

No savepoints in the bathrooms either. Most likely there will be checkpoints. Zombies don't get aggresive at night anymore. You also can't escort survivors. They'll just instantly teleport to your safe house. Say what people will but I liked having them tag along with me. Add those with the lack of psychopaths plus Frank West's change in both voice and personality, it's pretty clear the new dev team behind DR4 wants to get rid of the original Dead Rising as much as they can. Great....

Well, to be fair....this doesn't mean it's not a good game. Resident Evil 4 was vastly different than previous games and it turned to be fantastic.
I'm not saying this is going to be the case but let's wait until the game gets released before crapping on it because it doesn't play exactly the same as the previous 3 games.
Dead Rising is a very polarizing game. I generally hate Survivors and escorting them. I thought it was dumb and the AI was always suspect. I have no problem having survivors instantly teleporting to the safe house.

Game is out and as I feared, it's kinda boring imo. Too casual, human enemies (including the 'Maniacs') don't pose as that big a threat and Frank West is not Frank West in terms of personality.

Sure he's had a sense of humor and cracked a joke once in awhile in the previous Dead Risings but here he's like a character straight out of Saints Row.

Capcom Vancouver put the final nail in: [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Frank West is dead. I don't mean his character that I've been complaining about but in the literal sense. Got killed and it wasn't a proper send off either. Just an anti-climatic moment of man running away from zombies, zombies catch up, grab man, death. Since there are no alternate endings this time around, our favorite photographer has officially met his end by wannabe hipster producers that have never made a Dead Rising game before who got the privelege to make Frank's last adventure instead of the original minds behind the first DR or it's sequel. I'm going to go play the original and shun this abomination. #NotmyDeadRising

Or just the wrong people picked for the job. Not all of them suck. It was actually western developers who made Dead Rising 2 and that one was alright. Why those guys weren't around for DR4 is beyond me and further beyond how anyone thought those four random producers would do as good let alone any better. Capcom should've just waited 'til RE7 was finished and focused on this next but too late for that. What's done is done and I despise 'em for it ]:<

I'm getting pretty sick of watching video games people love getting put in the hands of self-righteous schmucks who think they need to streamline the mechanics of a game because obviously everyone's retarded and wants to push a button and get instant gratification, and fail to even bother attempting to understand the core elements that caused the fanbases around these games to grow in the first place.
At least the first Dead Rising got put on Steam, so that'll always be there.
