I don't know if he beats Sheev. But seeing that Sith spirits can visit the Chaos dimension and take Sidious from there, it further diminishes Sidious' Force ghost feats.
And did A'Sharad go into the Chaos when he was Fl'd by Wyyrlok III?

To be honest, I don't know why the people on this forum are not aware of it. I mean it's the last issue in this series.

Is there a source stating otherwise? This is directly from the last issue of the comics.

Regardless, the DE Handbook makes it clear that Palpatine was well-prepared for his death(and resurrection) LONG before it happened, and was able to achieve said resurrection via his mastery of dark side magic.

The ghosts brought him back, mate. Can't argue with the source itself. And where it was said that Palpatine died many more times? It wouldn't make sense if he died pre-DE. Chee is right. He lied.

Palpatine resurrected himself after his death in RotJ, thanks solely to his mastery of dark side magics and the like -- not because of 'help' from ancient Sith spirits or w/e...
But yeah, I'm curious to see the quote from Chee that retcons Palpatine's above statement. I certainly didn't get the impression that Palpatine was originally intended to be lying in that scene, though -- he was telling Luke the true end result of tapping-into the dark side so deeply. It decays his body(that's *why* Palps kept a stockpile of clones on Byss, after all.) /shrug

What always stuck in the back of my mind about DE was just how old is Palpatine if he's been going from one cloned body to another? He said the process is painful so you know he did it at least one other time. Is that his second body in TPM?
None of the versions of Palpatine that you see in the films is a clone. The original Palpatine had a normal lifespan. He went through the clone transfer process between Eps VI and DE. (I concede that some "retconning" might need to be considered with the exact wording of the DE text.)
Cool, thanks... It is definitely a retcon, because Palpatine clearly wasn't intended to be lying in the original scene.
The good thing is that it doesn't really change much here. Chee even admits in the very same post that Palpatine was able to resurrect thanks to his *own* mastery of the force/dark side... Not because he had 'help' from ancient Sith spirits.

Naga Sadow's spirit also escaped Chaos, after his vessel(on Coruscant) was destroyed, and returned to Yavin 4.
As about the CE, would you take that part for granted when its authors don't know the detailed context of Dark Empire comic books?
Geez, I hate inconsistencies.

Wait a moment. That void isn't Chaos, that void is the cosmic space. This takes place after he solo's himself with his own Force storm aboard the Eclipse. This doesn't occur when he died shortly after the last movie of OT.
So, there is no retcon after all.
