So basically back when Aries Spears still had MADTV fame and Tiffany Haddish was his novice comedic apprentice, Spears thought up a MIND-BLOWINGLY TASTELESS comedy sketch involving pedophilia to upload to Funny or Die. Spears recruited Haddish to find children for the sketch, and Haddish contacted a "close friend", telling her that the sketch would be a kids sketch for Nickelodeon and without showing her a script or contract. The friend, admittedly but understandably naive, agreed and trusted her kids with Tiffany unsupervised, unaware of what her supposed fd was about to put her kids through.
Spears and Haddish took the kids to Spears house (again filming this shit with no liability contract or parental oversight) and proceeded to make what was essentially Kevin Spacey Erotica, with the skit including (pleasedontsendmetohellgodfortypingthisandpleasedo
ntarrestmefbi) a crotch shot of an underwear clad boy, Spears rubbing oil on the boy's shoulders, and Spears climbing into a bathtub with him amongst other creepy shit. OBVIOUSLY, when the shoot was over, the traumatized kids went to their mother, who immediately demanded justice from Haddish for the ordeal. Haddish tried to pay her off, but the mom wasn't whoring her family's dignity like that, so Haddish and Spears kept her in a hush-hush legal battle for years hoping that the controversy would die down into eternal obscurity. Unfortunately for Spears and Haddish, Spears decided to hypocritically bodyshame Lizzo, causing the public to look into his "comedic resume and uncover this sketch, which was initially deleted by Funny Or Die immediately after it's upload for it's blatantly obscene content.
As for my thoughts, as someone who grew up watching MadTV with my father, preferring it over SNL and collecting every magazine, book, and Alfred E. Neuman memorabilia I could find, and as a HUGE Aries Spears fan, being that I loved every Dollar Bill Montgomery skit (and of course THE R KELLY SKIT WHERE HE MADE FUN OF PEDOS) and even ignored episodes that didn't include him, l am both baffled and yet shaudenfreudianly entertained by this cluster****.
I could forgive this sketch for being tastelessly obscene, boringly unfunny, and pathetically pointless, IF THEY HAD PARENTAL CONSENT/OVERSIGHT AND A CERTIFIED LIABILITY CONTRACT. However, given the clearly duplicitous means in which this sketch was produced, Spears and Haddish absolutely deserve AT LEAST a year in prison, the issuance of financial restitution for the kids and family who will undoubtedly be traumatized for life after filming this, lifelong sex offender registration, and permanent Hollywood blacklisting as punishment for such bafflingly reckless unprofessionalism.
This is LITERALLY Simple Jack from Tropic Thunder, but with pedophilia. Spears and Haddish were so determined to make a shock comedy sketch (that was INSTANTLY DELETED by Funny or Die due to it's blatant obscenity) about pedos that they inadvertently-or-not produced what can only be called a piece of child pornography, which is exactly what this shit looks like. It looks like Victor Salva directed a SNL skit.
For a point a reference, imagine if during the Chappelle's Show Trading Spouses Skit when the black kid is given a "timeout", the child actor's parents confronted Chappelle and told him that they didn't know their son would be in such a scene. Chappelle's career would've been RUINED.
Seriously, WTF was Spears smoking when he devised this skit, and how desperate was Haddish to assist him in producing this? Spears and Haddish must have heard that Will Smith and Jussie Smollett were having a "most-humiliating black celebrity" contest and decided they wanted an INDISPUTABLE first-place trophy. Even a brain-melted high-school drop-out teenager could see the problems with this skit at the CONCEPTUAL level. And these ****ING IDIOTS ACTUALLY FILMED THIS? Well they got their wish for the stupidity trophy and the public spotlight because this has to be one of the most embarrassing and stupidest celebrity scandals in the history of Hollywood BY FAR. This is one of those cases of "Thank God I'm not these idiots, because I know I'm stupid, but am I THAT STUPID 🤔?????????????..................."
From what it seems, the mom wants justice from Haddish for deceiving her and traumatizing her child, and Spears monetary restitution is proving incapable of healing her son's lifelong mental anguish, so she wants a more tangible punishment, and in this rare instance, I would say she deserves it. Again, I could forgive the sketch for being tasteless and obscene if AT LEAST the parents and child actors knew what they were getting involved with, but this is clearly a case of a mother's trust in her friend being unscrupulously taken advantage of and these actors selfishly, unprofessionally, and audaciously putting children in a traumatizing situation purely for some quick Internet fame, and for that, they ABSOLUTELY DESERVE criminal charges and public ostracization imo.

Just to make it perfectly clear, even MARLON WAYANS HAS CALLED TIFFANY HADDISH UNPROFESSIONAL AND IMMATURE. You know you are the epitome of unforgivable idiocy when Marlon "Mandingo Party" Wayans considers you too obscene.
Also, all three family members deserve separate reparations imo. The Mother was clearly decieved, and the children will undoubtedly be traumatized for life. What makes this truly horrific is that Spears and Haddish KNEW this sketch would lead to lifelong trauma because otherwise they wouldn't have taken such duplicitous measures to hide the sketch's true content from the mother, and for that, I think this counts as a legit case of criminal victimization that should be penalized by COMPLETE asset forfeiture AND an unavoidable prison sentence, lifelong sex offender registration, and eternal ostracization from Hollywood.

After giving the case the most meticulous analysis I could, I've concluded that both parties were in the wrong. Haddish and Spears knowingly decieved the parent of a child actor about the child's working conditions, and recklessly placed said child in an undeniably obscene production for their own selfish plans to receive fame, and this is obviously repugnant. However, the mother clearly and INEXCUSABLY FAILED in her maternal responsibility to monitor her children's working conditions, and she had every opportunity to pursue a criminal conviction, as the video, while deleted off Funny or Die, has been publicly accessible for a decade, and instead she chose to receive a settlement rather than pursue criminal charges. Only now, a decade after the incident, now that Spear's name is in the spotlight due to his Lizzo comments, is this video, which has been publicly accessible for ten years, being broadcast on new networks. While Spears and Haddish's actions were obviously reprehensible, they legally paid the price already in terms of the financial settlement, and I don't see how the family is owed any more restitution. You can't get the settlement AND the conviction. That's literally THE PURPOSE of the settlement, so that it DOESN'T go to criminal trial. So yeah, while the skit was inexcusably tasteless, the punishment was metted out long ago, so any further pursuance of prosecution is unjustifiable and does come off as opportunistic extortion.
I guess the lessons here are
A) Don't hire child actors without guaranteed contractually-binded parental oversight
B) Don't allow your children to participate in unsupervised theatrical productions
C) Don't place child actors in uncomfortable setpieces without indisputable parental permission and oversight
D) Don't accept monetary settlements in lieu of a criminal conviction if you think the perp deserves jail time.
E) Don't wait TEN YEARS to expose "criminal" activity when the evidence has been on public display for a decade
F) Don't insult people's physical appearance when you are clearly not a beacon of Adonian irresistibility
G) Stop hiring Tiffany Haddish for shit. Nobody likes her. Her unmeritocratic rise through Hollywood's comedic stardom with ZERO notable standup experience is HIGHLY suspicious. Upon further analysis, I think I may have undercovered the truth. Haddish has been known to be intolerably obscene, with audacious comedians such as Marlon "Mandingo Party Wayans calling her too disgusting, and she is also a proven liar, given that she lied to the mother in order to secure the actors. Spears, while brazen, is a seasoned Hollywood comedian who knows not to cross boundaries without permission.
My guess is Haddish, who at the time was (and still is/forever will be) a desperate and unscrupulous novice devised the skit to upload it to Funny Or Die as soon as she could in order to jumpstart her career, and she asked Spears to help write the script and secure the set and props, to which he naively and generously obliged. Spears asked if she could procure child actors to perform such an audacious skit, and Haddish, as she has done with the mother, lied to him about the children's credentials, acting experience, and contractual security, as she was desperate to upload the skit as soon as possible. She secured both kids by lying to the mother about the sketch's content, and she tricked Spears by lying to him about the children's contractual oversight, because, while Spears is infamously brazen, he also has a certified Hollywood fandom due to his MADTV career, and I highly doubt that he would have knowingly filmed such bizarre scenes and compromised his public image had he known the children weren't prepared or contractually certified.
So ultimately the blame falls on Haddish imo, because she clearly lied to multiple people in order to make a tasteless comedy sketch that would jumpstart her career (which again didn't work due to Funny or Die deleting it). After Spear's Lizzo comments, his name on the public spotlight may have instigated an opportunistic cash grab from the mother to dredge up the incident, or maybe her children were genuinely traumatized despite the financial settlements, but her anger should definitely be pointed towards Haddish rather than Spears, whose only role was performing the skit and whose biggest mistake was trusting Haddish to procure child actors whom (he thought) would be willing and licensed to perform such an audacious skit. Haddish is the rotten root of it all, I'm 99.9999....% certain.
