Hmmmmm.....is there a speed difference between pre crisis Flash and current Flash, I remember a story from pre C that implied that Barry can run around the world and back in just one second (ridiculous I know ).
Superboy Prime got a pseudo retcon, but before that happened he escaped the speed force during the Infinite Crisis era, so it would be my guess that Superman of pre crisis days would have been much faster than even that.
Superman and Flash(Barry) once raced around the galaxy, to the point the race exhausted the Flash.
But Superman still keeps with Barry throughout the race(even when they yank all the stops and pour it on, Flash only seems to be only faster than Superman a bit)
Yes but this is pre-crisis Superman. We can lean on the answer being a high possibility to outright yes he can, since Superboy Prime was able to break out of the speed force, which automatically screams of you have to be pretty fast to pull it off. Pre-Crisis Superman was not only stronger than Superboy Prime, but faster as well.

the question shouldn't be how fast is pre-c supes compared to these flashes, but rather it should be how fast are these flashes compared to pre-c flash. supes and flash raced several times in a couple famous comics. usually it ended in a tie but it was ALWAYS extremely close. if the newer versions of flash can be shown to be considerably faster than the pre-c showings flash accumulated (and i'd say that's a very likely possibility) than i'd say no, he couldn't catch them. if pre-c showings of flash are comparable, i'd say he MAY be able to.
like his strength feats pc supes did have a couple crazy speed feats, but in general i think speed is depicted more impressively nowadays than in the past. /shrug
