betterworld.com, half.com, and amazon. I get a lot of my books that way. You can find used books for dirt cheap on half.com and amazon, and betterworld is also cheap, free shipping in the US, and it all goes towards literacy charities.

i dont own a credit card which is required to even begin thinking of purchasing online

i got lucky one time when i got a couple of Barns and Noble gift cards and went on a shopping spree online
got the Max Ride mangas, the Zombie Survival Guide graphic novel and some mini novels

Paypal? You can't use it on amazon unfortunately, but I'm pretty sure you can on the other two.

Well that sucks.

Garage sales are always a good place to look for cheap books - was at one a few years ago with my mom, they had a bin of books that were a quarter each, I spent about $5 and wound up with half the bin. Awesome.

the library is always selling books on this small shelf, i check it out every time i go there
i just hope they do a full on, big sale that they usually do cause the sale that i missed was only for like a weekend
usually they do it around mid June and it lasts till around August

I bought a Harry Potter book at a garage sale years ago. I took it home and it literally fell apart in my hand.
