Wha WAS the Legacy virus? "Legacy Virus" was a mutant-specific disease that Stryfe unleash in the world in the X-cutioners saga, which at first causes weakening, then unsightly blisters appear, then, just before death, the mutants' power(s) reach thier maximum potential and explode, taking the mutant with it. For a long time t\nobody could come up with a cure until finally they did i believe it was Beast and Dr.McTaggert but there was a catch to the cure, a mutant has to inject himself with the serum which would react the same way overloading his powers but instead of only dying the cure would be producted in his body and release airborne and that martyr, mutan turned out to be Collosus! Some of the mutants that were infected and died from the Legacy Virus were Illyana(Colossus sister, she was the first), Pyro, Mastermind, Multiple Man and the only known human to contract the dissease was Dr.Moira McTaggert but it was believe she was more subjected to the disease more than other humans since she had had sexual relations with Proffesor X and Banshee which made her more subseptible to the disease.

I hope that answer ur question!

Small corrections: Moria was infected when Mystique made alterations to the virus, which allowed it to attack humans. But, this alteration was what gave Moria the clue she needed to developing the cure, which she passed to Xavier (who passed the info to Beast) just before she died.

And Multiple Man actually didn't die from the Legacy Virus. It was revealed that was one of his duplicates that died. I think Multiple Man is with one of the X-Corporation's divisions right now.
