http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-grunge
"At the turn of the millennium post-grunge began to experience a stronger resurgence as bands like Puddle of Mudd, Breaking Benjamin and Nickelback began to gain popularity."
Post-grunge.

Wikipedia isnt always reliable. Everywhere I go Nickelback is either labeled Alternative or Rock. No post-grunge.

Nickelback are alternative. Any music made after the whole grunge fad went away can be considered "post grunge". Not just any band that picks up a guitar and records an album.

you are aware that "alternative" is a blanket genre, right?
nickelback is rock-alternative-post grunge. they follow several grunge guidelines, such as big-balled vocals, faux-introspection, distorted guitars, and "pop" songwriting.
they'r post-grunge.

How am I an idiot? Because I posted sites that proved you wrong? Nice, douche.
"Some of these newer bands alienated fans of the original grunge and early post-grunge sound, and are often referred to or even self-identify simply as either alternative rock or "modern rock," rather than as post-grunge".
More proof. Just shut up now.

Yeah I like all those songs. Hero is just Chad Kroeger with some other people and Josey Scott.
