I know, sure enough, that Federation troopers in space suit might get to the roof of their respective ships, armed with phasers-2, 3 or 4s, stand and then shoot at TIEs while the phaser banks are seing used to hit at their capital ships.
Comparing Star Wars and Star Trek is like comparing Bambi to the Exorcist - there is just nothing to discuss that would go in Star Trek's favour. In my eyes they are TWO completely different genres
I know well enough that any Incredible Cross-Sections Star Wars book will be incorrect about destructive power of SW weapons or shields. Even heavy turbolasers mounted on Star Destroyers can only fragment 25-meter wide asteroids, whereareas shipboard phasers can vaporize comets much bigger than the asteroid heavy turbolasers only fragmented.
star wars is way cooler. i actually like both star wars and star trek, but star wars is miles ahead. no action scenes in trek equal a saber duel. i know star wars is way cooler because watching star trek i often think how cool it would be to see a jedi show up on enterprise and take out all the security (before realising their not evil). watching star wars ive never thought "wouldnt it be cool if a guy with pointy ears and a bowl cut showed up telling everyone about logic". and what is with all the sparks shooting from every computer in star trek. they get hit once and every computer on board is either shooting sparks or erupting into flames, yet every single one of them continues to function. how can having the hull hit make everything of the bridge put on such a light show, and exactly what happens inside those computers that allow them to spark like that, and allot them to continue working. ive always hated that about star trek. anyone have an explaination?

I really don't think you can compare the two. They are different media (movie vs. TV), different forms (sci-fi/fantasy vs. strict sci-fi), and are just too different to be compared.

Star Wars is sci-fi fantasy. It is a fantasy storyline in a sci-fi setting. Really, though, Star Trek isn't more realistic when it comes to technology. Both are not very likely.

If you take the SW books against ST books, SW books are as nothing compared to ST literature, because, at least, you have dates using our current dating system.
