Regaurdless of emenims assisted rise to the top. He still made it there with talent. Emenim never ounce made his lyrics out to be anything other than entertainment. How the public percieves them are there fault.
He never said there is truth behind his lyrics of his past. If you listen to his music he quite often states that it is just a fabrication inspired by actual events.
Emenims credibility through out the hip hop world is actually backed with great respect. any hip hop fan knows this. Saying just because his songs are played in dance clubs holds no credibility this is a void statment that holds no credibility. Many rap artists songs are played over and over again in night clubs. NAS. is the most respected rapper along with DMX and there songs are played quite often.
just because emenim took advantage of an oppertunity by DR,DRE to get his foot in the door DOESNT MEAN shit. DRE saw talent and decided to give him a chance. Emenim never claimed to be a hard thug that grew up in the ghetto. in numerous interviews he always states that he grew up in the average trailer park, no different than the average kid with a dream. So the image that is percieved as a thug in the ghetto is again a self percieved image. even though his lyrics help this image he always states it's not the truth but inspired by truth.
Emenim is all talent, if this wasnt the case. he would have died out soon after his first album. Dre gave him the chance and he took advantage of it. most all rappers today are here because of a promotion from another artist. Any artist today that threatens emenim;s talent is always beaten down to the sze of a little bi*tch with a backlash by emenim
His songs may appear repetive just because these are the songs chosen by MTV to be marketed as singles. If you listen to his music you will see he is infact not repetive

he is alright... i don't listen to him, but i respect his right to say whatever he likes and however he likes. and if he can make loads of money suckering people into buying garbage he is doing something right. if i could make money on something that took minimal work and i actually enjoyed doing it, i'd say i was living the american dream. so quit being a jealous hater.
eminem is one of best freestylers. eventhough i dont like his music. He beat many great rappers. The only rapper (so far) he couldn't beat was Canibus. It was a close battle.

ok RR. Canibus had several battles with Eminem. I saw read on internet (ill find it and post it) and my friend lives in New York. Em went to NY to battle Canibus several times. WEll it was close. It was impossible to say who won. I think Eminem won the first few battles then Canibus caught up. I dunno it was tie or Canibus won. And i know that they dissed each other many times. But they cool. THey friends. no hating.

hmmm i think the website was a "fake" but i did find other good info. Canibus vs Eminem never really happened. but they do diss each other alot in their songs. Canibus respects Eminem ALOT. Eminem doesn't much. Canibus wants to rap with Eminem. Eminem has not decided. Canibus wants to battle with Eminem. Eminem is not sure. good info eh?

yeah great indeed. Wander why emenim wouldnt be willing to collaberate with canibus. The only reason i can see is because canibus is among the type of rappers emenim disses. Canibus claims to be the best and that there is no better. Emenim doesnt claim to be the best only among the best. That would be a great battle. It would eigther be close, or incredibly one sided. I think id have to say canibus is probably the better freestyle artist. This is probably why emenim is scared to do anything with him, beause he would end up having to battle him at some point. And knows he would lose. There is just to much to much material for canibus to go on about emenim. There is very little for emenim to pull out on canibus

"just because emenim took advantage of an oppertunity by DR,DRE to get his foot in the door DOESNT MEAN s---. DRE saw talent and decided to give him a chance. Emenim never claimed to be a hard thug that grew up in the ghetto. in numerous interviews he always states that he grew up in the average trailer park, no different than the average kid with a dream. So the image that is percieved as a thug in the ghetto is again a self percieved image. even though his lyrics help this image he always states it's not the truth but inspired by truth."
wrong..........Eminem says he is from Detroit (which he is not) and that he was picked on constantly. This makes him the scrawny white boy who defied all odds by surviving the mean streets and rising to stardom. He has never stated "I grew up as a nerdy poor kid in a trailer park in Warren"..............
He doesn't try to promote the thug image? He dresses like a gangster rapper. He even carries a 9mm. pistol to promote the gangster image. He needs no pistol.......he has countless body guards. He carries it to look hard not because he needs to. This fact if further supported by the fact that he carries it UNLOADED.....meaning that he isn't really gangster enough to use it, he just wants people to THINK he is hard. If you would like to dispute any of that.....do an MTV news search, he has had two convictions involving his UNLOADED 9mm. Once he hit a guy in the head with it who was making out with his wife in a car at a club.......the other is when he pulled it on an employee of Psychopathic Records (Doug Dail) who was getting ready to beat him up. He pulled the gun out, pointed it at him, fumbled the gun and dropped it. He was so scared he couldn't even hold the gun he was shaking so bad.
Eminem has talent, no doubt. So does Justin Timberlake. He just needs to put his talent to better use. He can rap very good, his voice is just too high for it. Most of his songs sound like crap. His big songs are all either slow (Cleanin' out the Closet, Way I am) or pop songs (Without Me, Real Slim Shady, My Name Is, Guilty Concsious)...........
Rap credibility? Are you kidding me? He is the reason Dre gets made fun of now. The day you see Ice Cube, Mack 10, Method Man, DMX or any other credible rapper talking about how great Eminem is will be the day hell freezes over.
Best diss song I've ever heard is about Eminem, by the ICP....only because it is so true. It starts off a little something like this.
Coming straight out of Warren.......bitch you a joke
Sucking so much dick your fucking lips smoke
With your silly ass pretty boy rap
Mean muggin' and thuggin' sittin' on Dre's lap
Pull my gat I'm a thug..........no bullets in it
Just shakin' stumblin' nervous fumblin'
Scared to death....screaming for help...
So Damn shook ya almost shot yourself
Little radio thug with your preppy smile
Got everybody hopping out on 35 mile
Telling us we fake little ****** bet
I'ma knock ya teeth out the back of your neck
You might have little girls cryin' and sh--
But the Detroit thugs ain't buyin' the sh--
in later verses they talk about Eminem paying fellow label mates of ICP Twiztid to let him open a show for them.......which he did, I have the show on tape. They also talk about him using their name (ICP) to try to get people to come to his show, which is also true. I have a picture of the flier in which Eminem has "Might make an appearance: Insane Clown Posse"..........
I guess you can get the basic gist of the song..............after that, he shut up and never did another diss song to ICP. If you didn't know, the diss song was called "Marshall Mathers" off of his Marshall Mathers LP. He got called the f--- out and couldn't answer the song because every word was true. Now how does he think ICP is so bad that he disses them on his album..........yet used to go to their shows and used to promote his own concerts by saying that they might be there? He was made to look stupid and knew it.......so he gave up and never recorded another diss song again towards them.
