A Nightmare on Elm Street

I'm going to review this film here so I can get some unbiased opinions. Wes Craven is definetely the master of horror of all time followed by John Carpenter. I mean Nightmare on Elm Street had a low budget and Wes managed to put on some really cool special effects considering the movie was done in 1984. This is where we first meet Freddy and he is actually scary, we didn't see him like that until New Nightmare. But New Nightmare was also done by Wes Craven and it's the 2nd best movie of the series. Nightmare on Elm Street still passes the test of time, my cousins were terrified by this film and they're the kinda guys that don't appreciate old school horror, since they hated and dissed the original texas chainsaw massacre. Every horror fan must see this one, and it spanwed 6 sequels, 7 if you count Freddy Vs. Jason.

Two thumbs up cool !

I give it two thumbs and a cock up........I get a hard on just thinking about watching this movie.

One of the best horror movies ever. Wes did a great job........too bad New Line had to keep making sequels and water down the series. Scary/dark Freddy was great.......prankster Freddy is just weak. I think the only movie that portrays Freddy close to the way he is portrayed in A Nightmare on Elm St. is Freddy v/s Jason......and there are even a few laughs in there.

New Nightmare was good.......I just didn't dig Freddy being different. I wanted to see the burnt guy wearing the red/green sweater and brown fedora.......instead I got something that looked like it just walked out of the morgue, but with razors coming from the ends of his fingers for some reason....no glove, just razors. Weak.
