You know, I think it IS time for another sabre question...
Can anyone point out the major stylistic differences between Prequel-era and Classic-era lightsabres?
I have three major differences, based on the Classic films and TPM.

The activation button is closer to the top of the prequal ones where as it was closer to the base of the classic era ones.

As far as activation is conerned you are in the right area but it is more fundamental than position.
Position wise, on-switches in both eras appear to have no pattern.
BTW, one of these is real hard, so it's actually only two differences I am after, and if anyone gets the third that is great.

Well in prequal era they seem to turn themselves off automatically. Like when Qui gon dies. His lightsaber turns itself off. Where as in ROTJ vader throws his and it stays turned on.
