Yeah, I agree that Star Wars's plot is not really sci-fi as much as say 2001 or Blade Runner. Sci-fi plays more of the setting for Star Wars.

Best Sci-Fi to me is Alien and 2001. I was never really a big Blade Runner fan.

Everyone should be saying ALIENS. Why isn't everyone saying Aliens?

as a single movie i'd have to agree...i love aliens...especially the directors cut with the added scenes...when the automated gun turrets run out of ammo

the scene when they detect movement after they've locked everything down...for me it's probably the single most suspensful scene ever...whoever chose the noise for the motion detector shoud be given a medal

He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Let’s put a smile on that face!" And... Why so serious?"

Blade Runner.

Watched the DC last night...and wow. I remember watching this movie 15 years ago when I was 10...I liked it then though I only understood the basics since I was a child. Watching it now and understanding all its complexity is simply breathtaking. This is a masterpiece.

I think the Alien Movies and Pitch Black should be in the list of the best

I agree, I'd say that for me, the best Sci Fi films are between Predator & Alien. Those movies have a certain glow about them...they'll always be two of my favorite movies of all time.

Best O 3

Of the 3, I thought Star Wars was the most fun and entertaining. I think 2001 was the best 'film', and Bladerunner was a vision of our own possible life on Earth.

I think in many ways, Alien is the best SciFi movie becasue it did well in so many levels for me.

The first trilogy of Star Wars was great fun.

Personally, Gattaca, Bladerunner, Star Trek: Nemesis, Casshern, Aliens, The Matrix, The 5th Element, Akira, Galaxy Express 999 and Terminator 2 rank amongst my favorites.

yeah, man. The sound is fukin brilliant across the boards in that movie. I'm not sure who did the score but it has to be the cat who did the score for Wrath of Khan. Because everytime i watch Wrath of Khan it is ruined for me because the score is so similar to Aliens, i always end up wishing that i were watching Aliens instead laughing out loud

the motion detector and the Aliens scream are just incredible. What is the Aliens scream again...,a baby elephant and a peacock?

Aliens!

But from that list, I voted Star Wars. The pole was a bit shit, to be honest...
