I'm impressed BF big grin
The end is predictable because its the most plausible. The simplest. As a movie I enjoyed it...but it has to many cheesy scenes that just "ruin" the Matrix feel messed And they ignored characters that were so important in Reloaded, like Mero and Persephone.
And to many crappy CGI.

Not only the end is predictable (as lots of scenes are), but it is also kinda pathetic (in term of story), because as the main character is almighty and as [SPOILER - highlight to read]: every time he has a problem, or discover a weakness, he gets a new power , his quest and the movies become endless and pointless... The only way to end is to avoid a "happy end"... Technically, the W bros. couldn't end the movie differently, considering what they had done to their character(s).

Yeah i didnt mention the CGI, it was pretty crap. The characters were weak, the whole 'inevitable' theme was overbaked. Im certain that there was never meant to be a trilogy after these last showings, they seem more like 'add ons' to the original rather than following a logical story. It seems to re-tell what we already know, we all knew that once neo became the one, he would end the war. [SPOILER - highlight to read]: But whats up with the whole 'living in harmony with the machines' deal? The machines were sucking the life out of the human race remember !!! Patchy, and on the whole disappointing. Rating? uhm probably a 6/10

hmm...ok, well....

Overall...it was the weakest of the 3..for me by far. The film, I did like, but unlike 'The Matrix' and 'Reloaded' i dont think i could watch this one over and over again...
I wasnt too happy abut the ending...[SPOILER - highlight to read]: I am almost positive that Neo isnt dead....there wasnt a clear indication that he is dead for sure...i.e. unlike Trinity who is dead totally and absolutely and there is no way of bringing her back if there is to be another movie, with neo this is possible So, basicly this film left it open for another film..which isnt really going to happen....
Another thing is [SPOILER - highlight to read]: There is a 'peace' between machines and humans...obviously cant last..again open for another movie...which isnt going to happen DAMN IT!
I think, that was my biggest problem..the fact that it was left as it has, and no other movies are to come....just my personal view....
but, who knows it may turn into 'star wars' thing and kept getting made to death... (no offence to Star wars fans)
Smith was great...yet again...however I thought that [SPOILER - highlight to read]: The fight between Smith and Neo wasnt a natural Matrix type fight, but something that was put there just so that there is a fight in the 'Matrix' realm rather than just machines fight in the real world...it appeared like that
I cant rate this film yet..im gonna have to see it again...i saw it at zero hour on Wed, and that was ages ago..so, im gonna have to see it again before i make a decision...

oh and...out of the 3, it had possibly the best soundtrack wink big grin

i thought the ending was perfect. i couldnt see any other possible ending being done without discreditiing the importance of the previous two movies.

I didn't say I wasn't satisfied with the ending, I just said it was sad that, as RageR noticed, it was the only ending possible when you consider what has been done previously. That is quite different.

I saw the movie last night and after watching it i got this feeling that it missed something, what is it? i dunno, i thought that Trinity didnt do anything special in her fighting scenes, all her moves were basically the same ones as in the 2 previous movies, i agre that Bane guy imitated Smith so well it was funny, i thought the battle for Zion was awsome, its a wonder they survived and i hated that Merv and Persephone were on screen for about 5 minutes but man Persephone's expression when they took control of the situation was priceless, damn shes gorgeous, the ending was pretty predicatable but it lives room for more Matrix(hopefully not for now) but i wonder in Reloaded Neo took on 100 Smiths with ease but in this one he had trouble dealing with just one i know Smith might have gotten more powefull but still it would be the sme as fighting 100 of the same guy!

The ending was good for leaving so many questions unanswered, but this was ment to be a conclusin to triology..and....it looked like it was open for many many more movies...
what im trying to say, it didnt just leave few questions unanswered, but it kept the whole thing open for more movies...i was so irritated by that, especially when i know that there will be no more Matrixes..id love to see more, but its not happening...
Film was good overall...yeah...but it was the weakest of the 3.....

Actually there can always be more, never say never wink
[SPOILER - highlight to read]: They can turn Trinity's death...the machines could save her, corny I know but from what I saw in this movie, anything is possible!

Yup, that one. All I remember is a bouncer calling out "Holy Shit, it's Wingless!" to Seraph as he appraoches the nightclub, which I found neatly intriguing, but your quote makes it rather more obvious!

Ok, Well I finally saw it.... and quite frankly, it was good. (no that is not sarcasm). However, It was not without its flaws.

First, I'll get the flaws out of the way.... First off, there were too many arbitrary one liners... ("Neo....he fights for us". Was that statement really necessary? No.) Also, the first part of the movie definately had to much of the same preachy dialogue that I didn't care for in Reloaded, luckily it was not as big a part of it in Revolutions, so it is forgiveable. I also thought [SPOILER - highlight to read]: trinity's death scene was way way to drawn out . Also, some of the fights were so over the top they crossed into the 'cheezy' chart, a bit too much flying around in the fight with smith and Neo, but again, this was all forgivable. There weren't really any huge flaws in the film, other then the preahy dialogue, but then again, not everyone will see that as a flaw.

Now to the strong parts, the battle in Zion was absolutely AweInspiring, I thought probably the best scene in any matrix film, although a bit more tragedy would have been helpful to demonstrating the sacrafices that must be had during war. The visuals were also astounding, and the movie held scenes of tremendous beauty. I especially liked the scene in witch [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Neo and Trinity rise above the clouds on their way to the machine city, and see the beautiful sunny sky ...Very striking scene. I also really enjoyed how this film seemed to be more aimed at character development, rather then philisophical idea's that don't really lead anywhere necessary, I'm glad to see them trying to focus on making us care about the characters in revolutions again, much like the first matrix.

The first matrix... still the pinicle of the series... pretty much answered all the questions we needed answered, and gave us the basic idea of how the story of the matrix would end, thus eliminating the need for sequels, and although Revolution returned to form, and was a much improvement over reloaded... still, I must remember the final line Neo uttered in voice over at teh end of the first film..."I did not come here to tell you how this would end...only begin" Perhaps it would have been a wiser decision had that statement been true...

I'll give it 3 out of 4 stars

See, my point of view is, yup, the battle for Zion was very nice, I enjoyed it muchy. But as a scene in of itself it was the kind of thing I can see in any sci-fi action move since Star Wars. That's not a BAD thing. But the reason I liked the first two in particular is because they were so distinctive in their style- vis a vis the fights and stuff in the Matrix, and slight intellecutal edge. The distinctive things were less present in this film. So as I say, it stands out less.

But that is partly because they had to wrap the storyline up. Most wraps have a problem there. Still, I was happy with the ending also. Did you agree with what you saw me say about the ending in the Matrix area, BF?

Sorry, cant see that in any Star wars movie. Its annihilation. Impossible to win. Thats what I love about it. The Star wars you now that the good guys will win. Plus the effects but...different times.

Err, NO, the good guys are going to LOSE the current plot. The battles the SW prequels will lead to the destruction of the Jedi.

And I MEANT that I could see an action sequence with lots of sci-fi shooting in any sci-fi action movie, That the good guys cannot win is not, in itself, distinctive- that is a plot change, not a style change.

Whereas the Matrix kung-fu fights, bullet time and all (NONE of that in Zion!) were what made the Matrix so distinctive.

And as said, the good guys were NOT annilhated, and that was pretty obvious.

And thanks for the thing about the Mero saying that.
