It is a bit tacky, yes. Maybe you should dispose of that picture before it contaminates your mind. That's not the way you want to remember our lovely Logan, is it?

Wolverine... dead?
I once read an issue where Wolverine was trying to rescue... Miko, I think, while at the same time fighting Sabretooth. But Leech had taken away their healing powers. At the end, they both fall down. Did Wolverine actually die?
Wolverine is Marvel's most bankable and overrated and over used character....
If that doesnt answer your question No He is not dead nor will he ever die....

Yep.....
pretty much......
Unless.....
he loses his mass appeal and everybody doesnt know who he is THEN and only THEN will he die a slow and painful torturous death....
Oh wait what are the odds of that happening?
Nope .... never gonna happen

It's so tragic, out of a neverending series of misfortune Logan really never has had the normal life he always wanted. And now he's taken as an outcast and misfit and everyone - even Logan himself - hates him for not being able to get killed. I'm kinda starting to understand him though, before I said he should get over it and grow up but I actually can understand how he doesn't want pity from the others and therefore he'd rather retreat on his own sometimes than get anyone else messed in his confused mind. Poor Wolvie. He would need a huge load of self-forgivingness and less perfectionism.
I think the way he disappears sometimes to ponder on his own is such a sweet way to save the people around him from confusion and unnecessary trouble. It's clear he wants to keep his thoughts and feelings and problems as his own and feels talking to someone and letting another person too close would be too much of a burden. Not to mention keeping too many close friends would be dangerous as well, he's got enemies afterall.
Obviously another person could think "where did that Logan go again, he's not able to work as a part of a team and he always causes worry". But it seems like Logan takes it for granted that people think rationally and control their emotions, and if someone gets pissed off of him disappearing every now and then it's their personal problem. If the others didn't have such high expectations on him and realized instead he's got free will to come and go as he pleases they wouldn't get so mad at him. If the others realized he can take care of himself and if he can't it's no one else's problem, they'd save themselves from being unreasonably over-protecting. Sure everyone want their loved ones to be safe but it's clear Logan can take care of himself!
No particular point in this. Just sharing my newly found understanding with my role model.
